The project also reunites him with his former Tabing Ilog cast mate Kaye Abad who plays the role of Jason Abalos's wife-turned-mistress in the drama series. Patrick said he would be open to do more reunion projects with his friends from the show. “Siguro if there's a good story and a good script and if the management would like to make it happen. Nasa kanila naman yun eh. And if the fans want that then we’ll give it to them. I’m still in contact with them naman. Kumbaga they’re the group that I’m closest to because we shared four years together in Tabing Ilog. Once in a while I talk to Baron (Geisler), John Lloyd (Cruz), Jodi (Sta. Maria) and Kaye (Abad),” he said.
At 33, Patrick said providing for a good future for his two children is now his main priority. “Well of course it changed my outlook in life. I get more inspired to work because it’s just not myself I’m working for. Of course I’m working for my kids also. I want to give them a good future. I also work for my dad. Pag wala akong tapings or shootings, I work for my dad and I’m trying to get to know his business. He owns Sunrich Manufacturing corporation. We manufacture the raw materials of the sinigang mix, Knorr cubes. So lahat ng raw materials nun nanggagaling sa amin. Ako naman I’m helping out in other aspects na puwede ako tumulong. Before siyempre when I was younger parang medyo I thought, ‘Ano ba ito, ang boring!’ I didn’t want to put so much time and effort into it but just recently after Annalisa ended, I told my dad if I could get to know his business para may iba akong ginagawa. So ayun, I found the experience better. Mas nalaman ko how the business works and kung anong ginagawa,” he said.
Next year, Patrick will be among the list of celebrities tying the knot, like Heart Evangelista and John Prats. “Our wedding will be held sa Blue Leaf Pilipinas sa Macapagal Avenue. It’s a ballroom venue. We’re still in the planning stage. I’m not sure but mga 400 to 500 guests siguro. Yun ang pini-peg namin but of course it could change pa. We have to get things in order and bilangin pa yun but we’re pegging it at that just to be sure. We had our pre-nup in Balesin. Kaya March para malapit sa anniversary namin. Kasi March 21 yung kasal namin tapos March 23 yung fourth year anniversary namin,” he shared.
Even though his son Jazz does not live with him, Patrick said he is trying to be a good dad. He said Jazz will definitely be part of the wedding. “Yeah I got him as a ring bearer. Pumayag naman si Jen (former girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado). I don’t know if she’s going but she’s invited naman. I would like to think that we’re very much okay. Kumbaga as far as I’m concerned wala namang problema,” he said.
Patrick is currently living with girlfriend Nikka and his baby daughter Chelsea. “Well I’ve been a Christian matagal na actually but to take my walk with the Lord seriously just recently lang. I’m with Words of Life Christian Ministry. Sabay kami ng fiancée ko. Yung family niya Christian din. We’re in one house and that’s why also we decided to get married because of course when we took our walk with the Lord seriously, we found out that the Lord doesn’t want this, us living in one roof. Then I decided to propose to her to make it right. And to make it right with the Lord,” he added.
Unlike the characters in Two Wives, Patrick said he is not the type to cheat on his relationship. “I’m a different guy. Even in the past every time I had a relationship I never thought of anybody else. I never cheated. Yun ang masasabi ko na nagawa ko,” he admitted.
Watch Two Wives starring Jason Abalos, Kaye Abad, Patrick Garica, and Erich Gonzales starting October 13, Monday on Primetime Bida weekdays on ABS-CBN.
