Angel Locsin shares secret to having a top-rating soap

<div><img src='' alt='012414-Angel_Main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>For returning primetime actress Angel Locsin, a successful soap has three ingredients: good material, good execution, and good actors. During the recently concluded grand press conference of her upcoming soap <i>The Legal Wife</i>, the actress said that if all three requirements are met with accordingly then everything else will just follow suit.</div><div><br/></div><div>“Honestly <i>hindi kasi talaga ako masyadong nagco</i>-concentrate <i>na kailangan lahat ng gagawin ko</i> is box office<i> ganyan. Bilang isang artista ang mahalaga po sa akin ay makagawa ng isang proyekto. Kasi bilang isang tao gusto ko rin na makapagbigay, sana, ng inspirasyon sa mga taong may parehong pinagdadaanan ng </i>character<i> ko. ‘Yun ‘yung sa akin… At dahil maganda nga ang kwento, siguro sumusunod na rin na naniniwala ang tao sa proyekto, sa</i> performance <i>at doon nagiging</i> hit <i>ang isang</i> show,” Angel said. Angel will be taking on the role of Monica in the soap.</div><div><br/></div><div>Many were wondering why it took her three years to return to primetime after her fantaserye <i>Imortal</i> opposite John Lloyd Cruz ended. To this, Angel explained that she opted to wait for good material instead of settling for anything less. <i>'Naghintay din ako. Hindi naman </i>quantity<i> ang usapan dito kung hindi </i>quality. Very hungry <i>po ako sa napakagandang istorya. Kasi sayang naman 'yung pagkakataon kung ang lahat ng trabaho ay gagawin natin pero 'di ka naman naniniwala sa proyekto,'</i> she explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>'So<i> ito, finally binigay ng </i>Diyos <i>ang 'The Legal Wife' at tama naman, tama naman na naghintay ako ng tatlong taon para dito sa proyektong ito,'</i> she added.</div><div><br/></div><div>The wait, Angel said, wasn’t actually tedious since she was preoccupied by other projects in the past three years. Among them were the films<i> In The Name of Love, Unofficially Yours, One More Try</i>, and <i>Four Sisters and a Wedding.</i> She also became a mainstay on the sitcom <i>Toda Max</i> before it ended last year.</div><div><br/></div><div>She continued, 'Well <i>nagkaroon naman po ako ng ilang</i> Best Actress <i>na </i>award <i>sa pelikula, may</i> sitcom <i>ako.</i> So <i>sa akin</i>, okay <i>po, kasi napagdaanan ko 'yung araw-araw na trabaho pero wala naman po akong</i> Best Actress award.'</div><div><br/></div><div>With so many infidelity-themed soaps and movies in the past few years, Angel was asked how her new soap would make an impact on the audience. 'Interesting <i>itong istoryang ito at lahat kasi ay may dahilan kung bakit nang-iiwan si lalaki. Nang-aagaw si babae, kung bakit kahit martir si babae mukhang kawawa na siya ay pinaglalaban pa rin niya ang asawa niya,'</i> she narrated about how “relatable” the soap’s story was.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>The Legal Wife</i> is set to premiere on January 27.</div><div><br/></div>
