Rose “Osang” Fostanes is being eyed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue to pay her taxes after her being declared X-Factor Israel’s first ever winner.
Commissioner Kim Henares explained why the BIR will be going after Osang.
TV Patrol reporter Marie Lozano explained that as a caregiver Osang is exempted from paying tax if she is registered with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, also known as OWWA.
Commissioner Henares confirmed this. “You’re taxed globally.
Another exception will be if she pays all of her dues in Israel and in such case, “ideklara din niya kung magkano yung binayad niya sa Israel at ibigay niya sa amin yung documentation.”
Osang’s family, however, balked at the idea that Henares was already after Osang barely a week after she won. Osang’s sister Gina Camposana said, “Sana wag niyo munang kaltasan kasi pinoy talent yun e.
But once more, Henares had an explanation to this.
