After playing dual roles in the last installment of Kimmy Dora, Eugene Domingo admitted she is thankful to have been able to work on a challenging movie with a good friend. “Luckily in my life I have met a person whom I think is not only my best friend but a genius in his craft, si direk Cris Martinez, the screen writer of Kimmy Dora 1, 2 and 3,” she said.
Eugene said she had fun playing twins Kimmy and Dora, adding that she has more fun playing the child-like Dora. “Parang ang lakas kasi maka anti-aging ni Dora eh. Si Kimmy kasi lahat ng bagay gusto niya matalino. Lahat ng bagay gusto may diskusyon. Eh ang gusto mo naman mag-relax lang di ba?” she said.
Apart from doing movies, Eugene said she is considering going back on stage after doing Bona last 2013. “Anong gusto kong susunod na role ko? Naisip ko yan nung isang araw pero ngayon nakalimutan ko na kung anong gusto ko i-play. Meron akong isang material na gustong gawin. I forget the title now. It's a play actually. It's about a not-so-good looking person na na-in love sa super guwapo secretly. It's a classical play but I forget the title. Gusto ko kasi yung pagiging poetic and dramatic and romantic and comic nung material na yun all at the same time. And I think mas maraming makaka-relate. Aminin na natin, mas maraming kamukha ko (laughs),” she admitted.
As the host of a weekly celebrity comedy show, Eugene said she is proud to be part of it. “Maraming natutuwa sa industriya ng TV na may ganung show na parang original Pinoy game show,” she said. Eugene admitted she misses the presence of Wally Bayola, one of her co-hosts on the show, who got involved in a video sex scandal last September and has since taken a break from showbiz. “Of course kasi kasama siya sa original eh. And I always pray for him,” she said.
Eugene said she tries to still give him in support even if through spirit although they have not communicated recently. “I don't know how aside from praying for him. Wala namang taong hindi nabibigyan ng pangalawang pagkakataon sa buhay. Lahat ng tao nabibigyan ng pagkakataon sa buhay,” she explained.
When asked what advice she would like to give Wally, “I think I will go with the advice of Bossing (Vic Sotto), because you are a public figure, it won't hurt for you to ask for an apology. It always good naman to be mas mapagkumbaba,” she said.
For her resolution this year, Eugene said she wants to go back to school. “Sinusulat ko talaga yung gusto kong ma-achieve. Goal na lang kasi okay naman ako, wala akong gustong baguhin. My goal for 2014 is I want to study something. I want to learn something. Pag-iisipan ko pa. Special courses, parang ganun. Kung hindi ako artista, I want to work in a bank. I want to count money. I want to learn how to invest. Filipinos should learn how to invest. Kailangan hindi tayo parang mayaman lang ngayong araw na ito. I believe that your vision shouldn't always be working for money but money should work for you. I want to be good in math. Mahina ako sa math. Baka yun yung pag-aralan ko, (laughs)” she said.
