Kris Aquino reveals new contract's 'stricter terms'

0111414-Kris2_amainphoto.jpgPutting an end to all the controversies that hounded her loyalty to her mother network, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino finally renewed her contract with ABS-CBN on the afternoon of January 14 at the ABS-CBN compound.

The contract signing was attended by ABS-CBN Chairman Gabby Lopez, President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, Broadcast Head Cory Vidanes, and her manager Deo Endrinal.

While she didn’t disclose the duration of her contract with the network, Kris shared that it is “much stricter” now since “Bago na ngayon kasi ang kontrata so mas maraming ano, ‘pag pasaway ka may mga bawas kaya kailangan behave.”

Kris dubs this latest contract signing of hers as a “full circle moment” in her 19-year career in ABS-CBN since, as she says, the central part of her contract has something to do about being a host, which was apparently what her first stint was in the network before.

Siguro tapos na ‘yung debut, so siguro ngayon adult nako talaga as far as being a host is concerned,” she enthused.

The acclaimed host likewise shared that she won’t be doing any teleserye under her new contract but she added that she would host another reality show and a game show in the future. Plus an online show that can be accessed on ABS-CBN’s newest offering ABS-CBN Mobile.

With such promising projects ahead of her, Kris likewise took the opportunity to clarify anew the earlier speculations about her intending to leave the Kapamilya network.

“Who would want to leave when you’re with number 1? Kung tatanungin mo ako ah, malaking factor talaga sakin ang family ko and the advice of my sisters and siyempre kasi parang nung nag-usap usap kami ang inisip kong ibang options and finally now pwede ng pagusapan ito.

Kung hindi man sa ABS-CBN, I would’ve gone to a different direction and not entertainment. So para once and for all ma-klaro ‘yon. ‘Yung ibang options na naisip na pagusapan, hindi related sa field of television, ‘yun ‘yung mga possible sanang tahaking landas,” she explained.

But does she have to say to those that might put a negative slant over the fact that she negotiated her contract with the management?

“Anybody who’s up for a contract renewal, you negotiate. That’s really part of the package. Kung hindi na interesado sayo ‘yung kompanya hindi sila makikipag-negotiate sayo. So ine-exercise ko lang ‘yung karapatan ko bilang isang contractual talent,” maintained the top Kapamilya host.

Then she continued, “Lahat po ng tao pinapagdaanan ito especially kung hindi kayo empleyado.”
