Although a year has already passed since she and boyfriend Gerald Anderson made their relationship public, Maja Salvador confessed that she's still yet to get used to hearing criticisms about them and that sometimes all the negative remarks tend to take a toll on her.
Given that so many people are visibly against what they have as a couple, Maja asserts that approval remains very important for her and that she’s grateful that their family and friends have actually given that to her and Gerald.
"Pero intindihin din po natin na may mga ibang tao na never nilang matatanggap at maiintindihan pero wala tayong magagawa kundi respetuhin ‘yun,” she said while adding, "at pananahimik nalang po."
Where does her family come in her difficult situation, more specifically her mother?
While she has been mostly private about their relationship, Maja started opening up and being vocal about what she think and how she sees or hopes her relationship with Gerald would be.
More recently, the Legal Wife actress posted on her Instagram account a collage of romantic photos of her and the Dyesebel actor with the caption "habambuhay ikaw at ako ang magkasama #believe."
Does having a bunch of detractors watching every bit of progress that's happening between them in a way add pressure for her to really make their relationship work and last "forever?"
Kung kayo talaga, magwo-work 'yun. Yes po at dasal," replied Maja.
Meanwhile, it's only been a few days since the trailer of her new upcoming soap has been shown, yet a string of memes depicting her in various confrontational dialogues have already surfaced, one of them even included the photo of her erstwhile best friend Kim Chiu whom she had a falling out due to her relationship with Gerald.
According to Maja, who would take on the role of Nicole, a mistress, on the upcoming soap, she didn't have any second thoughts in accepting the project. More, she believes that people won't associate her character to what happened between her and Kim because “Ang layo ng character ko sa kung ano man ang nangyari sa akin sa totoong buhay.”
