Proving that he is indeed Kim Chiu’s closest male confidante, Xian Lim swiftly rallied to his onscreen partner’s defense after she drew flak from allegedly slighting a veteran columnist due to her response during the grand press conference of their upcoming film Bride for Rent.
The Kapamilya actor on Thursday posted a video clip of Kim answering the columnist’s question about the true status of their off cam relationship with the caption that read: “There is a BIG difference between ‘We don't owe you any of our personal lives...’ against ‘We don't owe you an explanation’ #goodvibeslangpopalagi.”
Hours after their press conference on Tuesday, a tweet from one of the media persons who attended the event insinuated that a certain columnist walked out of the venue after hearing Kim’s response that she doesn’t owe the person an explanation.
During Bride for Rent’s bloggers conference held a day after the grand press con, Xian claimed that the Primetime Princess didn’t mean to offend and was merely “misunderstood.” “Kim knows I always have her back and it’s a matter of just explaining. Sometimes naman po kasi or, in my case, most of the time, din naman name-misunderstood po kami and ‘yun po there’s always a rainbow after a little rain,” he explained with a smile.
Kim, for her part, clarified that no one really walked out of the venue. “Wala naman pong nag-walkout and nag-sorry naman ako and siguro na-misinterpret lang. Siguro may mga bagay na kapag inuulit ulit… ikaw kapag tinanong kita ng paulit ulit tapos ang sagot ko ulit ulit din. Magagalit ka kasi ulit ulit lang rin ‘yung sagot ko,” she explained calmly to the press.
Xian, like Kim, also recently got embroiled in a tiff with an entertainment personality after he allegedly walked away in the middle of a live interview for the latter’s radio show when asked a question about the 23-year-old actress.
