Vina Morales admits that her younger sister Shaina Magdayao is not yet ready for a serious commitment.
Currently busy preparing for her role in the upcoming Mexican telenovela remake of Maria Mercedes
, Vina Morales said she is also happy that her family's salon business, Ystilo, is thriving as well. “We're so blessed to be opening our 28th branch here and it's still growing and we're looking for more branches to open, maybe next year kasi mostly franchisees ang inaatupag namin ngayon.
That's our main goal, to have more franchisees,” she shared.
Vina, who was joined by daughter Ceana and special guest Secretary Joel Villanueva of TESDA, apologized for the absence of sister Shaina Magdayao who was busy taping for Juan Dela Cruz. Vina said she and her sisters have different duties when it comes to their business. “I do the marketing, ako yung mga umiikot ikot sa mga branches,” she shared during the blessing of their newest branch along Valero Street in Salcedo Village, Makati last September 23.
When asked to comment about the recent sighting of Piolo Pascual holding hands with Shaina during the Star Magic Ball held earlier this month, Vina says she will leave it up to her youngest sister to confirm anything. “My lips are sealed (laughs). Ako kasi I was never against anyone na nali-link kay Shaina because I always respect her decision. I know pag hindi na niya nakayanan, talagang aalis na yan sa relasyon but I know she's a very strong person, she's matured a lot actually and whatever her decisions, talagang ako nirerespeto ko yun so kung mag-holding hands holding hands siya, bakit hindi? (laughs). Holding hands lang naman pero Piolo kasi has been a good friend. Hindi ko kasi ma-explain kasi whatever they have kasi they really get along well. They always go out in a group, they're barkada so ayokong bigyan ng color kung ano man yung nakikita natin sa kanila kasi for now they're really enjoying each other's company na wala namang expectations, yung ganun,” she explained.
The 37-year-old singer-actress revealed she was able to watch Shaina's recent movie On The Job where the latter had a love scene with Piolo who plays her husband in the movie. “Naloka ako (laughs) kapatid ko kasi eh. Siyempre kapag big sister ka parang feeling mo, 'Naku baby ko yan eh!' but you know the movie was exceptional, napakaganda ng pagkagawa. Walang eksenang tapon walang characters na matatapon sa movie. Buong buo yung pelikula and it really did well. Sabi nga ni Shaina sa akin, 'You know ate I really need to do this because it's a great film and I'm comfortable naman because it's Piolo who's taking care of me.' So sabi ko okay then I rest my case, wala na akong nasabi, basta ako happy ako sa movie. Maraming nagulat pero it was done in an artistic way, hindi naman siya malaswa. It's just that siguro hindi tayo sanay na dati nakikita natin siyang batang bata and then all of a sudden ganun di ba?” she said.
Vina said it does not mean Shaina will be seen doing more daring roles from now on. “I don't think naman she would go beyond her limits. Meron pa rin naman limitation yun. It's just that needed lang yung eksena na yun for the relationship with Piolo as husband and wife. And it was the right project to do it for me kasi hindi lang naman dito naipalabas yun eh kundi internationally rin di ba? So good choice. Good decision,” she explained.
Vina also admitted that she doesn't think Shaina will be ready to commit to anybody at the moment. “Shaina kasi is in this stage na hindi pa siya ready to commit again for a serious relationship so kung sino man yung gustong ang magpaparamdam sa kanya, she wants to make sure she is 100% ready for the commitment so kung kaya nilang maghintay then fine pero kung hindi naman then hindi talaga sila meant sa isa't isa. At kung sino man din yung mga nali-link sa kanya minsan nabibigyan lang din ng kulay,” she said.
