Eugene Domingo stresses that she's not pressured to make a huge box office hit out of Kimmy Dora 3: 'Kasi given naman na sa Pasko, mahilig manood ang tao ng sine'
With the first two installments of the Kimmy Dor
a series being phenomenally successful, the last one, Kimmy Dora 3: Ang Kyemeng Preque
l, will be aiming for the same thing. This was what Kimmy Dora
lead star Eugene Domingo claimed about the last movie of her box office series during their recently-concluded story conference. This kind of confidence she explained stems from the fact Kimmy Dora 3
would see more “pasabog and paandar” than the last two.
“I-expect natin na maraming pasabog and paandar dahil third and last installment na siya,” she said, adding that director Chris Martinez, who helmed the first two seamlessly, has also employed the same level of expertise for the last one.
“Klarong klaro ang vision ng director and 'yung gusto mangyari ng Spring Films sa pangatlo at huling‘Kimmy Dora,’” said Uge about their entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival in December.
The Momzillas actress likewise assured that they are going to showcase new antics and more “physically challenging” action scenes in Kimmy Dora 3. “I’m very excited. Required kami mag-training ng karate, may thai, yoga, sports. Physically challenging siya sa aming mga kakayahan bilang artista,” she revealed.
However, she assured fans that the brand of comedy that the Kimmy Dora series has brought over years would remain the same, complete if not better—in Kimmy Dora 3. “'Yung comedy niya is kumpleto. May exciting scenes, may play of words. It’s complete,” she said.
As an additional twist to the series, the film has also welcomed award-winning actors like Angel Aquino and Joel Torre as well as hunky singer Sam Milby, who will take on the role of Kimmy and Dora’s new love interest. “I’m also very excited about the cast this time kasi ngayon niyo lang sila makikita, mga dramatic actors na malamang dito na masisira ang kanilang mga reputasyon,” she added in jest.
With the tight competition during MMFF and the first two movies’ notable box office record, is she pressured to make Kimmy Dora 3 a huge success like its predecessors? “Walang pressure kasi given naman na sa Pasko, mahilig manood ang tao ng sine. So kung tatlo ang papanoorin niyo, isama niyo na ang Kimmy Dora,” she said.
