She further relayed that she’s not giving up on love. “Hindi naman ako nagdaan don sa bitter stage na ayoko, ayoko, ayoko ng ganyan. I’m definitely not closing my doors.”
The actress said that she has definitely moved on from her breakup with Billy Crawford and left that chapter of her life behind. “I have moved on definitely, okay na po ako. Kasi naibaon ko na po eh.” According to her, keeping things private has helped her recover fast and that she’s thankful to everyone who respected her silence. “Okay na ako and siyempre dala ‘yan ng mga tulong ng nasa palagid ko rin. I really appreciate everyone who respected my silence of course dahil bukod sa I understand na you are in the public eye, may mga bagay na I would have preferred to keep to myself, so malaki pong tulong ‘yung naibigay na respeto sa akin.”
Nikki is set to star in the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye Maria Mercedes where she plays a kontrabida role. When asked if she’s drawing emotions from the recent events of her life on playing her character, she commented, “Ang Maria Mercedes naman po kasi nakita niyo naman po siya, ano siya fun, light, hindi naman po siya singbigat nong mga nakaraang teleserye, pero of course, by still dealing with the issues in life, feeling ko hindi ko pa naman siya, so far ha, hindi ko lang alam ang itatakbo ng karakter, pero so far hindi ko naman pong kinailangan humugot sa kailailaliman,” she said.
But did her experiences help her to evolve as an actor? “Defintiely, lahat naman po ng pagsubok sa buhay will not only make you a better person but also will make you a better artist because you become in touch with the very foreign emotions, with the very unfamiliar experiences in your inner man na mga pagsubok lang ang magdadala sa ’yo, so definitely nakakatulong siya sa growth mo as a person and also as an artist,” she said.
