Andi Eigenmann on doing comedy: 'I admit na medyo struggle siya'

091813-andi_main.jpgWhen it comes to her newest onscreen character Rina in the Star Cinema comedy Momzillas, Andi Eigenmann admitted it was one of her most challenging roles since she entered showbiz. “Para sa akin ito yung pinakaiba kong ginampanan na character compared sa mga iba. Ito yung pinakamalayo sa who I am in real life kasi medyo mas mature na, it's an older woman that I'm portraying and first time ko mag-comedy so I admit na medyo struggle siya para sa akin. Pero magandang opportunity pa rin yun kaya ginawa ko pa rin lahat ng magagawa ko,” she said.

Apart from the movie, Andi is also busy preparing to start taping for her teleserye remake of Galema which marks her onscreen reunion with former Agua Bendita co-star Matteo Guidicelli. Andi admitted it has been a challenge for her to balance work and spending time with her baby daughter Ellie. “Tulog? Anong tulog? (laughs) Kasi siyempre every free time na meron ako gusto ko ma-spend with Ellie and okay lang sa akin yun kasi yung trabaho ko kahit nakakapagod, para rin sa kanya ko ginagawa yun at kahit na anong hirap ang ginagawa ko, kapag nakikita ko na si Ellie nawawala lahat ng pagod ko eh,” she admitted.

In the film, Andi's mom (played by Eugene Domingo) is against her marrying he fiancé Elwood, played by Billy Crawford. “Kaya ko rin naisip na magiging magandang opportunity ito to work with them kasi si mama (Maricel Soriano), si Tita Uge, si direk Wenn (Deramas), si Joey (Paras) at saka lahat magagaling na comedian and I've seen a lot of what they've done and sobrang nakakatawa at saka talented talaga sila sa genre na yun so para sa akin, after Sa 'Yo Lamang at saka parang hindi naman ako nakakatawa, good experience para sa akin yun kasi as an actress siyempre gusto kong gumaling palagi at mas marami pa akong ipapakita sa mga taong sumusuporta sa akin,” she added.

After continually being linked to Billy Crawford, Andi said she has come to accept that intrigues will always be a part of showbiz. “Hindi, okay na ako and for me parang alam ko naman that the truth will always prevail. Normal lang  sa amin, it's part of our job na masama sa mga issue or mapag-usapan or mamali or ma-misinterpret  yung mga ginagawa or sinasabi so okay lang sa akin yun. Everything's fine. At least now I know to not let it get to me,” she shared.

The 23-year-old actress said she hopes that the public will accept the fact that Billy has already made an official statement regarding his love life and she is not included in any part of it. “Well siyempre yung sa akin, lagi kong sinasabi na sana i-respect niyo na lang si Billy. Kung ano yung isnagot na niya dati, yung issue na yan na sana huwag na kayong maghanap ng iba pang kung anu-ano na yun din yung gagawin niyong dahilan eh nasagot na naman niya. Sana i-respect niyo na lang kung ano yung sinabi niya. That's really how it is and also respect din yung personal life,” she added.
