Nikki Gil is open to becoming friends with ex-boyfriend Billy Crawford 'in due time.'
After weeks of being mum about the issue, recently single Nikki Gil has finally spoken up about how she’s taking each day since her breakup with longtime beau Billy Crawford—that is slowly but surely. “Eyes ahead and I’m just looking forward to the many exciting things that are happening in my life. I don’t want to look back. I’m just trying to maintain a positive attitude by keeping myself surrounded by positive people,” said Nikki during an interview at the Star Magic Ball at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati.
Although she has finally opened up, Nikki still has opted to keep certain parts of their breakup private. Nikki said that the love from the fans has eased the pain and for that she is grateful. “Well I’ll keep that to myself pero para na lang din sa iba kasi maraming concerned maraming nagpapakita ng malasakit, okay na po ako maraming maraming salamat,” Nikki assured people.
She said the hurt caused by a breakup really varies from person to person and at the end of the day she’s just happy to be “very blessed to have a very prayerful family and very supportive friends” who have also helped her during this tough time.
But for the most part, Nikki had just kept to herself and to her good friend, actress Iya Villania because “I don’t really feel the need to involve a lot of people because it was a personal battle that I was going through and I had to face it myself.”
Despite being unwelcomed, the split according to her, has allowed her to learn and realize a lot of things about herself as a person and as a partner. “Marami akong bagay na I would probably do differently the next time around and definitely think that it has helped me become a better person and a more equipped partner for my future husband,” she reiterated.
The singer-actress recently celebrated her 26th birthday and rumor has it that she was greeted by Billy. “Yes I got the message… I said thank you,” she revealed curtly. Does this mean that they can be friends? “Maybe in due time,” she honestly replied.
Yet despite being a little reserved about the idea of rekindling a friendship with Billy as of the moment, Nikki is not one to go out of her way just to avoid him in the industry or in ABS-CBN compounds, especially since they are both Kapamilya talents. “Yeah definitely. I don't see anything wrong with that. Edukado naman tayong mga tao di ba? We will be able to handle things should the need to interact arise,” she supplied.
