Piolo Pascual says that playing his role in OTJ (On the Job) is such a rare opportunity.
Piolo Pascual said he is thankful to be part of the critically-acclaimed action-thriller movie OTJ (On the Job)
. The actor shared that he was in awe from the moment the initial scenes were shot. “Nung
shooting namin ang galing, ang daming
shots, ang daming nangyari, kaya
you know watching the film na
’,” Piolo remarked during a blogger’s conference for the movie.
He added that the script was really well-written and that having Erik Matti as the director amplified the beauty of the movie. “The script brought everything eh and being with direk Erik hihintayin mo na lang ‘yung instructions niya, tapos ‘yun na dere-derecho na, so iba eh, rock ‘n roll ‘yung ginawa namin,” he said.
On representing the country with OTJ in Cannes, the actor remarked that he’s proud that they were able to do so. “It was truly a memorable experience and I felt proud being a Filipino and being with direk Erik, kasi iba ‘yung experience na maidala mo ‘yung karangalan ng Pilipinas. It’s not just about yourself but it’s about your country na bilang mailabas natin at maipagmalaki natin sa ibang bansa,” he relayed.
For Piolo, the chance to play a role like in the OTJ is a rare one. He said that he absolutely brought his A-game to the set. “It’s fun to do role like this, you just have to give it your best. It doesn’t come overnight, it doesn’t happen all the time so to be given a chance to portray a role na ginawa ko ibibigay mo lang ‘yung best mo.”
The actor shared that even his mom who visited their set was amazed by his scenes in the movie “There was a time na my mom visited the set, ‘yun pa ‘yung pinakamaganda ‘yung eksena ko so naiyak ‘yung nanay ko. Because ‘yun’ yung nilook-forward ko sa pelikulang ‘to, something different na never ko pang nagawa sa pelikula,” he said.
