Even after filming the intimate scene, Gerald admitted that he still felt shy with his co-star Dawn who hails from Bacolod. “Kahit after nung love scene medyo nakakailang kasi it was her second day pa lang sa shoot, yun na agad ang eksena naming so kahit ako, at the end of the day napaka-professional ni Dawn, napakagaling and isa siya sa mga dapat abangan sa movie. Nakakagulat lang kasi sa pangalawang araw pa lang namin love scene na agad (laughs),” he shared.
Gerald said he tried his best to establish a good working relationship with Dawn. “Sinisigurado ko lang na kumportable siya kasi sabihin natin na mainstream actor ako at siya nagsisimula pa lang, at the end of the day andudun kami bilang actors lang, to make the movie good para pagandahin yung eksena,” he added.
Gerald shared that his love scene is not an issue when it comes to his relationship with Maja Salvador. “Siyempre at the end of the day actors pa rin kami and professional,” he said. The talented actor also added that even though he has graduated to more mature roles, it does not mean he will always agree to do intimate scenes in his succeeding projects. “Oh no, hindi naman porke’t ginawa ko yun eh bawat project gagawin ko yun eh napaka-importante din ng love na yun in the movie so siyempre gagawin ko kung kailangan ng movie pero siyempre hindi naman bawat movie may ganun,” he said.
Gerald said he considers shooting a love scene to be more difficult than doing action sequences. “Ang love scene napakahirap talaga kasi siyempre yung normal na tao kapag love scene or yung ginagawa niyo with your special someone gusto niyo private, kayo lang dalawa. So ang hirap hirap but it was a romantic and beautiful scene,” he admitted.
Apart from the movie, Gerald is also busy shooting for the Primetime Bida series Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin. He said he is lucky to have projects that enable him to do action and drama at the same time. “Sobra, as I said kokonti lang sa amin yung nag-a-action at drama so napakaganda ng experience na kaya kong ipaghalo ang action at drama,” he said.
The Zambales born talent said he is excited to for his fans to see how unique his current movie is. “Sobrang iba siya kasi ayaw naming i-lead on yung audience na sobrang action film lang dahil napakaganda ng kuwento. Yung dapat abangan is yung kuwento at yung bawat character namin, yung istorya. Sa seven years ko sa showbiz ngayon lang din ako nakabasa ng ganitong klaseng script na sobrang proud ako kasi part ako ng film,” he shared.
