Diana Zubiri: 'Excited ako kahit na-prolong ang first project ko'

<div><img src='' alt='081713-Diana_Main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Actress Diana Zubiri has made good of the time she had while waiting for her first Kapamilya soap by keeping herself busy with school. Unknown to many, the 27-year-old<i> Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin</i> star who has kept things quiet about her personal life lately is already in her senior year in college as a Theater Arts student.</div><div><br/></div><div>“Graduating student <i>po ako ngayon sa</i> Miriam [College]… <i>Ang </i>course <i>ko</i>, theater arts, related<i> rin siya sa kung ano ang pinagkakabalahan ko</i> as<i> artista</i>,” shared Zubiri during the recently concluded ABS-CBN Trade Event at One Esplanade, Pasay.</div><div><br/></div><div>How does she manage to balance being an actress and being a student? “<i>Ayun nga</i> every other day<i> nagte</i>-taping.<i> Yung wala kaming ginagawa nasa </i>school. <i>Tapos</i> Sunday<i> pahinga</i>,” she shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>She, however, admitted that her setup as a working student can become pretty challenging at times because, “<i>Mahirap kasi wala akong sariling hawak na oras, yun naman ang mahirap doon eh.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>But Zubiri quickly followed that with. “<i>Pero nag-</i>e-enjoy <i>naman ako eh. Tsaka gusto ko naman ito eh</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Asked where in her tight schedule she squeezes in her personal life, particularly her love life, Zubiri vaguely responded, “<i>Ah, maisisingit yun kung gugustuhin pero</i> right now relax, relax <i>lang muna</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Since transferring to the Kapamilya network in September last year, Zubiri has yet to be seen in a show. She did however make her Kapamilya onscreen debut a few weeks later after she signed up through a <i>Maalala Mo Kaya </i>episode opposite Erich Gonzales.</div><div><br/></div><div>From her first<i> MMK</i> stint, Zubiri had to wait almost a year before she was finally given a chance to get in front of the camera. Did she ever feel anxious about the long period of waiting? “<i>Hindi naman kasi nung naghihintay naman kami nagte</i>-taping<i> naman kami at tsaka meron rin akong ibang</i> shows <i>na ginagawa</i>,” reiterated the actress.</div><div><br/></div><div>Nevertheless, Zubiri noted that she’s excited about the launch of her new soap where, according to her, she would take on the role of a rape victim seeking justice who would be part of the lives of the characters portrayed by stars Dawn Zulueta, Dina Bonnevie, Tonton Gutierrez, Gerald Anderson, Rayver Cruz, and Cristine Reyes.</div><div><br/></div><div>“<i>Nakatrabaho ko na sila </i>Ms. Dawn before <i>okay naman, masaya ako at nagkita kami dito.</i> <i>Kay</i> Gerald <i>naman siyempre iba ang pakiramdam kasi medyo</i> teeny-teeny <i>kasi siya [at] ito ang </i>first role <i>niya </i>as a mature actor <i>at ako yung nakasama niya,</i>” Zubiri shared of having to work with a few of the biggest stars at ABS-CBN.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin</i> will start airing soon on ABS-CBN.</div><div><br/></div>
