After signing on as the newest talent of ABS-CBN last Monday, July 29, JC De Vera said he did not think twice when he got offered the chance to finally be a Kapamilya. “Yung totoo? Sabi ko, Go! Laban ako. Bahala na (laughs),” he admitted.
Apart from doing an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, JC reveald he already has a teleserye lined up starting this month. Fina-finalize pa,” he added.
The 27-year-old actor said he is not afraid to start from scratch to build a name for himself in ABS-CBN. “As in wala akong kilala talaga, yung mga pangalan ng lahat ng tao hirap ako alalahanin kasi very overwhelming itong lahat ng nangyayari sa akin. ang bilis, lahat siya mabilis. Very thankful to everyone na nag-welcome sa akin dito,” he admitted. Even though he has a few friends from his former network who transferred to ABS-CBN before him, JC said he has yet to break the good news to them.
Among all the talented artists in the Kapamilya network, JC said he is impressed with everybody’s work and does not have any idea who he wants to work with yet. “Actually wala, gusto ko lahat makatrabaho. Lahat sila dito very talented. Huling napanuod ko yung Ina, Kapatid, Anak, andun si Kim (Chiu) and Maja (Salvador) and sila yung nasubaybayan ko rin,” he said. If given the chance to work with the two top actresses, JC said he would jump at the chance to be their leading man. “Bakit hindi? Sino ba namang tatanggi? Kahit sino actually, kahit sinong makatrabaho ko or maka-partner hindi ako tatanggi kasi room yun para sa akin para matuto at mag-grow and sino ba ako para mamili? Nabigyan na nga ako ng opportunity na makaapak sa ABS-CBN tapos mamiili pa ako,” he said.
Even though he has also done his share of teleseryes in other networks, JC admitted he is impressed with the acting of his peers in ABS-CBN. For me, very challenging yun kung sino man yung makakatrabaho ko na yun. JC also shared that he is not dating anyone because he is focused on work right now. “Happy ako na single eh, it’s by choice,” he said.
