Kim Chiu speaks up about how she coped with her mom's untimely demise coupled with the negative feedback about her; refuses to comment on Maja Salvador's sympathetic tweet at the time.
Amid the untimely death of her mom, online bashers who were quick to judge her and the pressure of finishing a movie, Kim Chiu never thought of giving up. Pero at least nagkaroon ako ng break for two weeks,” she said in an interview after the press con for Star Cinema’s latest movie offering “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo
” held at the Dolphy theater, Tuesday night, July 23.
Some netizens tried to put her down when she seemingly moved on easily as she attended to work commitments soon after her estranged mom passed away last month. But the 23-year-old actress faced it all with a brave front.
Asked how it’s like shooting a romantic comedy amidst her personal struggles, Kim admitted that it was definitely hard but she needed to get the job done. She was just grateful that her colleagues were sensitive of her needs.
At this point, she’s trying to cope by talking less about it as much as possible. “More or less ayoko pagusapan yung tungkol sa nangyari.
Kim also took the chance to thank the people who stood by her, including her leading man Xian Lim. Thankful ako sa mga nandiyan for me, yung totoong nandiyan for me. Yung pamilya ko, of course, lagi naman sila nandiyan, inspirasyon ko sila sa kung ano man nangyayari sa buhay ko. Hindi naman sila bumitaw sa akin.”
Incidentally, her estranged friend Maja Salvador was also quick to defend her during the time a blog site published a blind item, referring to how Kim supposedly neglected the condition of her mom prior to her death. Maja tweeted, “You don't know her... You just know her name... #PleaseDon'tJudge #PleaseRESPECT” soon after Kim posted a furious tweet about the said blog site making up stories without checking facts. But when asked to comment on Maja’s sympathetic gesture, Kim directly answered, “Let’s not talk about it.”
