Vice Ganda revealed on his twitter account today, July 15, that he has polyps in his vocal cords, saying that he won’t be on It’s Showtime for a while because of his throat condition. “Sorry guys u wont see me muna in Showtime. The doc found polyps in my vocal cords. Di na nagsasara yung upper part because it’s seriously damaged,” the comedian tweeted.

He also announced that he has acid reflux, which worsens his condition. “The blood vessels are swollen and might collapse. I have also acid reflux na lalong nagpalala.” The comedian is currently on steroids to counter his condition. He’s also not allowed to talk. According to him, he’s been using pen and paper to communicate. “Ilang araw nkong papel at ballpen ang katapat ko dahil kailangan kong isulat kung anung sasabihin ko.”

The unkabogable star revealed that if the prescribed medication won’t resolve his condition, he might undergo surgery. “Pag di gumaling I will have to undergo surgery,” he tweeted.

Despite the challenges, Vice remained optimistic. “It will take a few days but I’m sure I’ll be fine. The Lord loves me. I’m not even bothered.”

According to www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au, a polyp is a small protrusion of tissue that looks like a ball on the end of a slim stalk and can grow out of the membrane’s lining in various areas of the body. Most are harmless, although a minority may be malignant.
