Vice Ganda reveals that he is currently suffering from polyps in his vocal cords and won't be hosting 'It's Showtime' because of his condition.
Vice Ganda revealed on his twitter account today, July 15,
that he has polyps in his vocal cords, saying that he won’t be on It’s Showtime for a while because of his
throat condition. “Sorry guys u wont see
me muna in Showtime. The doc found polyps in my vocal cords. Di na nagsasara
yung upper part because it’s seriously damaged,” the comedian tweeted.
He also announced that he has acid reflux, which worsens his
condition. “The blood vessels are swollen
and might collapse. I have also acid reflux na lalong nagpalala.” The
comedian is currently on steroids to counter his condition. He’s also not
allowed to talk. According to him, he’s been using pen and paper to
communicate. “Ilang araw nkong papel at
ballpen ang katapat ko dahil kailangan kong isulat kung anung sasabihin ko.”
The unkabogable star revealed that if the prescribed
medication won’t resolve his condition, he might undergo surgery. “Pag di gumaling I will have to undergo
surgery,” he tweeted.
Despite the challenges, Vice remained optimistic. “It will take a few days but I’m sure I’ll be
fine. The Lord loves me. I’m not even bothered.”
According to www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au, a polyp is a small
protrusion of tissue that looks like a ball on the end of a slim stalk and can
grow out of the membrane’s lining in various areas of the body. Most are
harmless, although a minority may be malignant.
