On her preparing for the role, Sharlene shared, “Siyempre pinaghandaan namin, nagpatangkad kami, nagpapayat para pagpasok namin sa TV handa na.” Was the transition from doing a kiddy role to a teen role difficult? “Okay naman po, bale ‘yun pinaghandaan talaga namin so bawal ng gumaya ng pambatang acting, dapat pang-teen na talaga.”
Now that she’s on a teen show, Sharlene said she needed to develop her acting style. “’Yung tono ng pananalita, ‘yung intonation, ‘yung parang sa Goin’ Bulilit kasi parang sing-song, parang pataas-pababa, dito kailangan parang normal na magsalita lang,” she said.
Is she ready to be in a love team now? “Oo naman siyempre ready na,” she confidently stated. But she is quick to add that she wants to take it one step at a time. “Pero uuntiin muna para hindi mabigla,” she said.
She relayed that the rest of the Luv U cast are her friends so it has become easy to work with everyone. “Masaya kasi bale kami lahat dito magkakabarkada talaga kaya hindi na kami nahihiya na mag-interact with each other na.” She added that they work comfortably with each other. “Kapag nagta-taping kami okay na, wala na kaming ilangan sa isa’t isa.”
The young actress shared that they rely on their acting experience when playing their respective roles. “Hindi po kami nag-workshop, parang kami nalang sa sarili namin, kung ano ‘yung ibibigay na role para sa amin, kami na bahala magbago,” she said. Sharlene plays the role of Sharlene Bernardo in Luv U. “Pamangkin ako ni Bentong, so bale ang role ko medyo boyish, parang palaban,” she relayed.
