Judy Ann Santos on her staying power in showbiz: 'The key is just to be honest'

In an exclusive interview with <a href='Push.com.ph'>Push.com.ph</a>, the Queen of Teleseryes shared what she thinks is the reason behind her staying power in show business. “<i>Siguro</i> the key is just to be honest on what you want, <i>kung ano ‘yung pinaninindigan mo, kung ano ‘yung pinaniniwalaan mo</i>,” she remarked.</div><div><br/></div><div>The actress added that in order to produce quality work, you need to be honest enough with management and with your co-workers. “Feeling <i>ko pag naging</i> honest <i>ka naman sa kanila at na</i> explain <i>mo ng maayos kung ano ‘yung gusto mong mangyari, iintindihin ka naman nila eh. Kaysa don sa hindi ka naging tapat sa kanila, tapos parang niloko mo lang sila, may inis</i> factor, so you might explain <i>kung bakit, maiintidihan naman nila</i>,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>With so many stars today, Judy shared her advice on how to make it in the industry. “Just give respect to everybody, to all your works, to all your projects. Respect<i> talaga ang magiging susi mo para mag</i>stay <i>ka dito. Kasi ‘yung mga taong nakatrabaho mo, ‘yun din ‘yung mag-pro</i>protect <i>sa ’yo </i>along the way,” she relayed.</div><div><br/></div><div>As she gears up for her new teleserye <i>Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, </i>Judy Ann is happy to know that a lot of people are anticipating her comeback. “It makes me smile. It’s flattering <i>pero</i> it makes me nervous<i> din naman. Kasi parang ang tagal mong nawala tapos nakakatuwa lang isipin na kahit na nawala ka may naghihintay pa rin sa ’yo. </i>So <i>parang tama naman ‘yung desisyon ko pala</i>,” she commented.</div><div><br/></div><div>Now that she’s a mother, the actress sees to it that she commits her self to projects that will make her children proud of her. “<i>Siyempre</i> you want to do projects <i>na </i>you can show to your kids. And eventually your kids will be able to watch it <i>‘yung magiging </i>proud <i>naman sila sa mga ginawa mong</i> project. One reason why I choose projects that I do now, it’s really because it’s more of quality than quantity,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>On the lessons that she learned in portraying her new role in <i>Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala</i>, the actress relayed, “It’s really respect for everyone, how to defend yourself and how to actually tell your husband <i>na wala namang hindi nakukuha sa hindi magandang usapan. </i>And really<i> ang pagbubuhat ng kamay sa isang tao ‘yun talaga ‘yung nakakatanggal ng respeto sa isang</i> relationship.”</div><div><br/></div>
