Enrique Gil admits he wants to explore other genres

<div><img src='' alt='060613-enrique_main.jpg' align='left' border='0' height='290' width='305'>After starring in a few movies and hit <i>teleseryes,</i> Enrique Gil said he wants to venture more into different genres of shows to know the career path he wants to pursue. “I like action. <i>Gusto ko rin ng</i> drama or comedy. <i>Depende pa eh</i>. I want to venture more<i> kasi minsan nakakagawa ako ng</i> comedy but really, really solid comedy. So <i>gusto ko muna i</i>-try <i>ang lahat para don ko malaman kung ano ‘yung para sa akin,</i>” he remarked during an exclusive interview with <a href='http://www.Push.com.ph'>Push.com.ph</a>.</div><div><br/></div><div>Enrique also shared that he wants to do independent films to expand his horizons as an actor, but not at this time. “<i>Gagawin ko</i> [<i>ang</i> indie film] <i>pero huwag muna daw ngayon</i>. Mainstream <i>muna tayo. Pag medyo</i> I want to try something different<i> naman</i>, I want to try indie. <i>Pero</i> stick <i>muna ako sa</i> mainstream as of now,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>He is set to star in <i>Muling Buksan Ang Puso</i> alongside Julia Montes and Enchong Dee. He admitted that this new show will truly test his versatility as an actor. “Feeling <i>ko ito na ang</i> biggest project yet. So<i> kung palaki na ng palaki ang</i> project,<i> ibig sabihin, kailangan pagaling ka ng pagaling.</i> So pressured, <i>kailangan maganda ‘yung kalabasan ng</i> show<i> namin</i>,” he commented.</div><div><br/></div><div>Despite the pressure, the actor is happy to work with the team of his new <i>teleserye</i>. He shared that his new soap is undergoing some major preparations. “I;m really happy <i>sa</i> cast <i>namin, sa mga</i> directors,<i> sa plano. Nagmeeting na kami. Sobrang </i>solid<i> ‘yung</i> preparation<i> para dito. </i>So I just want to start already. <i>Hindi pa ako nakapag</i>-taping. So hopefully <i>makapag</i>-taping soon <i>na</i>,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>On working with Julia and Enchong, the actor relayed that it felt like a reunion since they already worked together before. “<i>Parang</i> reunion <i>lang. Parang wala namang nagbago. Parang nag </i>reunite<i> lang ulit,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Enrique also talked about what he felt being part of the 21st anniversary celebration of Star Magic. “<i>Hindi ko alam na kasing tanda ko na pala ‘yung </i>Star Magic, 21 <i>na</i>. I’m just happy <i>na</i> I feel like I’m really part of this family. <i>Don ako masaya. Dito talaga, masasabi kong pamilya ko talaga ‘to! </i>I’m happy and thankful.”</div>

Enrique Gil wants to try out doing a comedy and an indie film someday.
