Model-turned-actress Solenn Heussaff claimed that there are a lot of Kapamilya artists that she’d like to work with in the future, with John Lloyd Cruz as her top pick for leading man. “Gusto ko makatrabaho si John Lloyd kasi magaling siya. Siyempre gusto ko rin si Anne Curtis. Maraming magaling [sa Kapamilya network] so I’m open to work with them if given the chance,” she said in an interview with Push.com.ph and other entertainment reporters at the press launch of British makeup brand Collection Cosmetics (Work The Colour) held at the Rockwell Tent, Wednesday night, June 19.
Solenn is all set to start shooting a new movie opposite Kapamilya star Paolo Avelino under Regal Films next month, a sexy romantic comedy to be directed by Cris Martinez. “Hindi ko pa sure kung ano yung title pero it’s a movie with Eugene Domingo, Paolo Avelino, Maja Salvador, and Jake Cuenca.”
Solenn added that she’s actually excited to work with Paolo since they used to be in the same home network in the past. “Yeah, actually nakatrabaho ko na si Paolo sa isang movie pero short lang yung scene namin. Ngayon parang siya ang ka-love team ko so excited ako kasi magkaibigan kami and yung script ang ganda and funny.”
Tax evasion allegation
In the meantime, Solenn gave an update about her ongoing tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at the Department of Justice last May. Previous reports mentioned that the actress supposedly has a tax liability amounting to 3.6 million. To which Solenn replied, “It’s still in the works. We’re fixing it. Unfortunately, it was on the news na hindi naman kailangan. I wasn’t given due process. But we’re fixing it na and I trust the justice system of the country. The case is under DOJ so may three more hearings pa kami.”
Solenn admittedly has limited knowledge about managing her finances, but she’s learning to be more adept at it to avoid similar conflicts with the BIR in the future. “May problem sa accounting side na hindi ko alam kasi hindi ako maalam dun. Ngayon may tatlong tao na ako [in charge of handling the financial aspect of my work] kasi hindi ko pa talaga kaya yung accounting. Nag-search ako sa internet, nabasa ko yung explanation and all pero ‘pag hindi ka nag-study ng accounting mahirap talaga.”
Now that she’s currently in between acting projects, Solenn shared that she stays in shape by working out regularly. May three days off ako per week so nagpe-paint ako, nag-exercise ako, nakapag-maintain ng katawan para [maganda tignan] kapag nasa TV. You just have to drink lots of water para ma-purify ang pores, get at least eight hours of sleep, and eat the right food. So dapat a balance of everything. Exercise and then night cream lang.”
When it comes to makeup tips, Solenn said that it’s best to keep it simple and natural. “I love black. Nung bata pa ako gusto ko ng laid back na rock. Yun ang peg ko. For everyday look, kung maganda skin mo, hindi mo kailangan talaga mag foundation. I noticed that some women gusto nila super white yung mukha. Pero stick to your color. Kapag maganda ang skin, all you need is mascara, blush, and lip gloss.”
