Enchong Dee confirms that all is well between him and co-star Xian Lim.
News of an alleged feud between Enchong Dee and Xian Lim on the set of their hit primetime show Ina, Kapatid, Anak
has been making the rounds recently. In an exclusive interview during ABS-CBN’s trade launch, Enchong clarified that he is on good terms with Xian.
“Okay kami, believe it or not we’re really, really okay. At sabi ko nga more often than not ‘yung mga kwento sa showbiz either nadadagdagan or nababawasan. And this is another issue that was blown out of proportion. Kasi nag-usap lang kami. May kinlaro lang ako sa kanya and then we were okay,” Enchong remarked.
The Kapamilya actor also added that no yelling transpired during the alleged confrontation and that he remains friends with Xian. “Walang sigawanag nangyari, walang hindi kami nag-uusap, walang ganon talaga. Magkaibigan kami. Sabi nga ni Xian masyado kaming maraming pinagsamahan para masira lang dahil nag-usap lang kami.” He shared that they even bonded during a wakeboarding session while the rumor was going around.
Enchong is now set to star in the upcoming teleserye Muling Buksan ang Puso with Julia Montes and Enrique Gil. When asked if he’s going to leave Ina, Kapatid, Anak he clarified, “Naging balita pero now I’m confirming na we’re going to end the show properly. We will stick to the story. We will stick to the ending. Hindi ko papabayaan ang IKA.”
On being offered another big role this year, the actor said he feels overwhelmed and thankful. “Grabe just so thankful and so privileged in being part of one of the biggest teleseryes of 2012. Ngayon naman pinakamalaking teleserye ng 2013. So sobra akong overwhelmed and di ba bihira lang ‘yung nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makasama mo ‘yung two movie queens (pertaining to Amalia Fuentes and Susan Roces). Ano ako dito very happy and very proud.”
The actor admitted that his next role is quite challenging. “Kinakabahan ako dito kasi nong una rin tinatanong ko ‘yung mga tao, ‘Kaya ko ba ‘to?’ kasi test of hard work itong soap talaga na ‘to.” Nonetheless, he said he knows that it’s all part of the learning process and his growth as an actor. “Kailangan talaga maging mature about this work kasi di pwedeng darating ka sa point na hoping na it will be a playground, but it’s not going to be like that.”
On what role he is going to play in Muling Buksan ang Puso, Enchong shared, “Ako dito si Leonel and we have a special relationship ni Julia from the very beginning na magiging tragic along the way.”
