The actress says she's learning the art of 'deadma' when it comes to online bashers.
The bubbly and charming Anne Curtis recently shared as to how she handles haters. Anne has more than four million twitter followers, putting her in such a vulnerable state in which anyone, including some bashers, to easily reach her.
“As I always say, learn the art of deadma,” she commented. However, Anne relayed that if her family is being bashed, it’s a different story. “Me, I don’t mind if it’s about me. Ayoko lang talaga kasi if tungkol sa family ko, medyo pumapatol talaga ako ng very light and charming lang lalo na when it’s medyo below the belt.”
Nonetheless, the Princess of all Media tries to keep her cool now that her sister Jasmine is also in show business. “But I’m trying to be a good example na rin kay Jasmine so I’m trying to avoid it na rin. Kasi it comes with the industry, you open your self to the public when you create a Twitter account or Instagram account, so it comes with it. You just have to learn to block, delete, report abuse, all of these things. There are so many ways to avoid it,” she said.
Moreover, the Annebisyosa singer reminds herself of her father’s words of advice. “One of the things that my dad also said that these people, ginagawa nila ‘yan for 5 minutes of fame and it’s up to you if you’re gonna give it to them. So huwag na lang, deadma na lang, learn the art of deadma,” she remarked.
Amidst the negative tweets that she sometimes receives, the Showtime host is still grateful of the many followers she gained over twitter. “I’m just so happy that these people can connect to me and I’m just lucky enough that it reached the 4 million mark so sobra akong nagpapasalamat. Kasi when you think about it, 4 million is a crazy amount of people. It’s a great way also kasi nga meron kang instant feedback from your followers kung nakakanood ba sila ng Showtime or napanood ba nila ‘yung film. And when I have time naman I try to reply.”
