Jodi Sta. Maria admits she and ex-husband Pampy Lacson have remained on civil terms for the sake of their son Thirdy.
Back from the Be Careful With My Heart
world tour, Jodi Sta. Maria said she enjoyed meeting fans of the show abroad. “Grabe nakakatawa, yung sa
Florida, sa L.A, sa
Edmonton at saka sa
Toronto sold out yung
,” she said during her press con as the new endorser of Purefoods Fun Stuff Nuggets held last May 28 at Annabel’s restaurant in Quezon City.
The talented Kapamilya actress shared that it was her third product endorsement with son Thirdy who is currently on a European trip with his father Pampy Lacson. “He left yesterday and he’s coming back after two weeks. Kasama niya daddy niya. Ako naman natutuwa ako na Thirdy gets to travel a lot. I really want him to grow up cultured and educated. Mga second week of June pa start ng school nila so hangga’t bakasyon sila bakasyon muna kasi medyo strict sila when it comes to absences. Hindi puwede mag-absent para lang sa bakasyon, kailangan may valid reason,” she shared.
Jodi said that there was no problem with her giving permission for Pampy to bring their son abroad. “Oo, sinabi naman niya sa akin yun. Kumbaga kung may mga tour kami like let’s say aalis kami ni Thirdy or si Thirdy aalis kasama dad niya, siyempre bilang respeto namin sa isa’t isa bilang magulang, sinasabi namin yun. Aware naman si Thirdy sa situation,” she added.
Now that their marriage is currently in the process of being annulled, Jodi said she and Pampy have a more open communication line now. “I would say na mas civil kami ngayon. We have to be civil for our child. If there’s anything na pinag-uusapan namin, it’s about Thirdy. Basta anything na tungkol sa welfare niya, sa school niya, yun yung pag-uusapan namin. We don’t have to be friends but we have to be the best parents we can be for our child,” she explained.
Despite a busy taping schedule for the show, Jodi said she tries her best to always have time for her son. “What I usually do is I have certain dates blocked off talaga per month so I can spend time with him para makabawi ako sa days na nagtratrabaho ako or yung days na kailangan kong asikasuhin yung negosyso. So minsan we go out of town or we go out of the country. Basta I’ll make sure that I’ll spend time with him,” said the Purefoods Fun Stuff Nuggets endorser.
Jodi said Thirdy has already gotten used to being in the limelight. “At a very young age si Thirdy exposed na to showbiz kasi I came back to showbiz when he was six months old so I bring him to tapings so he’s aware of what’s going on sa tapings. Alam naman niya yung environment,” she added.
The 30-year-old actress who plays the lovable Maya on Be Careful With My Heart said she is also prepared if ever Thirdy wants to join showbiz. “I’m sure sasabihin niya yan eventually but not now kasi napag-usapan na namin yan na siya mismo nagsabi na ‘Mommy hindi muna artista, commercials lang muna kasi ayoko mapuyat,’” she shared.
