Kathryn Bernardo plays the role of a painter in her new drama with Daniel Padilla.
After playing Princess Areeya in the hit Primetime Bida series Princess and I
, Kathryn Bernardo takes on a different kind of role in her upcoming new soap with Daniel Padilla called Got To Believe
. “Medyo malayo kasi ngayon talaga
more on sa
love story yung sa amin. Dati kasi
princess tapos may konting
love story and different yung
character namin kay
Mikay and Gino sa
soap,” she shared during the Chic Nails branch opening on Sct. Tuason, Quezon City last May 24.
The 17-year-old actress said fans of their love team will still get to see more exciting scenes between her and DJ. “Hindi naman sa mas mature ang roles namin dito, hindi naman super matured pero siguro one step lang na level up konti pero hindi talaga super mature,” she added.
In her new role, Kathryn plays an artistic girl named Chichay Tampipi which is why she started taking painting lessons earlier this year. “Pinag-painting workshop nila ako kasi artist yung role ko. So nag-paint ako tapos mag-ba-bonding workshop pa ata kami, hindi ko pa alam yung schedule nila and more of ganun lang,” she shared. Kathryn admitted she discovered a different side of her personality because of her new hobby.
The young actress even gave co-star DJ one of her paintings for his birthday last month. “Actually hindi ako artistic talaga pero dahil nga sa soap parang na-e-enjoy ko yung painting. Akala ko before wala akong artistic side pero ngayon masaya pala siya tapos parang nakaalis siya ng stress for me pag nag-pe-paint ako. Masaya lang,” she admitted.
Kathryn said that the more chances she gets to paint, the more creative she can get and she derives inspiration from a lot of elements. “We paint different subjects kasi different yung pini-paint namin every day. For example ngayon mag-pe-paint kami ng mga tao tapos tomorrow sunrise naman. Iba-iba,” she said.
As part of what is arguably the hottest teen love team in the country today, Kath said there is never any pressure for her and DJ to be “kilig.” The pretty morena said they have tried to be the same two people they were when they were first paired in the teen-oriented show Growing Up in 2011. “Kasi kami naman hindi naman kami yung ine-effort-an na yung bawat galaw kailangan kilig talaga. Basta kami, the more natural the better na mas gugustuhin yun ng tao yung natural, hindi scripted masyado at yung tama lang,” she explained.
