Bugoy Drilon says there is no competition between him and Jovit Baldovino

<div><img src='' alt='052413-bugoy_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>As part of Star Magic’s 21st anniversary celebration this Sunday, May 26 on <i>ASAP</i>, Bugoy Drilon said he feels very lucky to still be a Kapamilya after five years in the showbiz industry. “I’m so happy because <i>sa ilang</i> years<i> na yun, na-re</i>-recognize <i>pa rin ako ng mga tao</i> so I’m happy<i> kasi bihira lang naman yung nabibigyan ng ganitong</i> opportunity. Although <i>kahit wala akong </i>regular exposure on TV I’m happy <i>kasi nakikilala pa rin ako ng maraming tao</i>,” he shared during <i>ASAP</i> rehearsals last May 21 inside the ABS-CBN compound.</div><div><br/></div><div>The 23-year-old <i>Pinoy Dream Academy</i> alumni has been busy doing performances all over the country these past few months. “<i>May mga</i> mall shows <i>ulit ako tapos may </i>provincial shows. <i>Pero </i>I’m thankful <i>nga ako na naka-</i>guest <i>ulit ako</i> two straight episodes of <i>ASAP 18 </i>so I’m very happy about that. <i>Tapos yung</i> album<i> ko</i> and <i>yun sa Himig Handog sana bumili sila,</i>” he told his fans.</div><div><br/></div><div>Among his fellow artists, Bugoy said he is impressed the most with the singing of <i>Pilipinas Got Talent </i>Jovit Baldovino. “I’m a fan of Jovit Baldovino<i> kasi nakaka-</i>relate <i>din ako sa kanya na</i> from <i>hirap nanggaling.</i> I’m so happy for him. He’s like my little brother, <i>para kaming magkapatid niyan eh. Kapag may hindi siya alam tutulungan ko siya,</i>” Bugoy said.</div><div><br/></div><div>The talented singer denied that there is any sort of rivalry between them. “<i>Wala, wala talaga. Magkaiba naman kasi kami. </i>Rock<i> siya,</i> ballads <i>naman ako. </i>We’re good friends,” he added.</div><div><br/></div><div>Because of the influx of new singers every year, Bugoy said it is important to always try to grow even when you become popular. “As a singer and a performer, <i>parang kailangan mo i-</i>develop<i> mo yung sarili mo kasi bawat tao nag-e-</i>evolve. <i>Kasi bawat taon may pumapasok na bago. Kailangan hindi ka </i>stagnant. <i>Kailangan mag</i>-improve <i>ka at i</i>-push <i>mo</i> to the limit <i>yung</i> talent <i>mo. Hindi lang sa</i> talents <i>pero pati na rin yung kung paano ka magdamit kasi nagre-</i>reflect <i>din yun sa pagkatao mo. Ako</i> as an artist<i> alam ko na galing ako sa hirap, masa ako. Pero</i> I want <i>na kahit masa ako</i> I can look better, it’s a process <i>na puwede mo pa i</i>-improve. <i>Puwede yun. </i>it’s a process<i> na pag-unlad</i>,” he explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>Bugoy admitted that he has also tried to vary his interests when it comes to music. “<i>Ngayon </i>R&B ballads <i>pa rin ako pero nakikinig ako sa mga </i>classical <i>din at sa mga</i> rap. <i>Kasi ako rin gusto ko ihalo yung lahat ng</i> genre<i> sa isang kanta pero mahirap eh.
