Kim Chiu reveals details about her happy reunion with her estranged father

The reconciliation came about when her dad sent people to meet her at the airport last April 29.  “<i>May </i>show<i> ako sa</i> Mindoro<i> tapos dun siya</i> based [<i>ngayon</i>]. <i>Nagkita kami, pinadalhan niya kami ng </i>marshall. <i>Pagbaba namin ng eroplano</i>, [<i>sabi sa amin</i>], ‘<i>Pinadala kami ng papa mo.’ Sabi ko, ‘Ha?’ Tapos may pa</i>-cake <i>sa kwarto</i>, ‘Happy birthday.’ <i>Nakakaiyak</i>. [So <i>napagdesisyunan ko na</i>] <i>sige babatiin ko na. Tapos ayun, pagkatapos ng</i> show <i>pinuntahan ko siya sa bahay nila</i>,” she said in an interview with <a href='Push.com.ph'>Push.com.ph</a> and other ABS-CBN reporters at the Kapamilya trade launch last Tuesday, May 7.</div><div><br/></div><div>The pretty chinita further shared that she decided to bury the hatchet since she’s has grown up now anyway. “<i>Eh, wala, siyempre, sabi ko nga sa</i> Instagram <i>ko ilang taon din kaming hindi nag-usap. Tumatanda na kami</i>, so <i>siguro</i> it’s about time<i> na kalimutan na natin yun. Hindi naman kami nagiyakan. Nag</i>-hug, <i>chenes. ‘O ano, tanda na tayo, Pa,</i>’” said Kim who was very happy about their unexpected reunion.</div><div><br/></div><div>Kim added that her dad actually apologized for whatever failings he made in the past. “<i>Wala naman, sabi niya, ‘Napatawad mo na ako? Bati na tayo</i>. Sorry.’ <i>Eh, matanda na tatay ko. Kinalimutan ko na yung nangyari.</i>” The 23-year-old also got the chance to meet her half-siblings. At this point, she no longer harbors any ill will with the fact that her dad has another family. “<i>Marami </i>[<i>akong kapatid sa ama</i>] <i>Oo, na-</i>meet<i> ko sila. Masaya naman.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>After that happy reunion, Kim’s dad made the effort to visit her in Manila. Even their relatives were so happy that Kim finally made peace with her estranged father. “<i>Lumuwas sila dito sa Maynila kasama nung lola ko, mga tita ko, kasi nasiyahan sila na okay na, ganyan. Yun nag-</i>dinner <i>kami. Siyempre masaya rin yung mga kapatid ko. Yung lola ko naiyak. Masaya naman sila lahat kaya nagpa-</i>dinner <i>lola ko</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Asked if she’s also ready to make peace with her estranged mom, Kim simply stated that only time will tell if a reconciliation is forthcoming between them.</div>
