Enchong Dee and Julia Montes’s budding relationship turned sour last year, but now that they are set to work together on a new primetime teleserye Muling Buksan ang Puso, will they give romance a second chance? “Ako I’m really, really happy kasi isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit kami ganito ulit ngayon dahil sa Muling Buksan ang Puso. I am thankful for Muling Buksan Ang Puso kasi masaya na kami ni Julia,” Enchong remarked in an interview during ABS-CBN’s trade launch.
When asked if he meant that he’s now in a relationship with the actress, the actor clarified, “Ang ibig kong sabihin kung ano yung gap, yung space na nagkaroon sa amin, wala na yun. And ngayon I can say it in a straight face na masaya kami, now that we’re working. Siyempre pinangarap din namin ‘to nung time na yun na medyo magkasama kami. At now magkasama talaga kami almost everyday because of this show.”
The actor shared that the time they spent apart was a learning experience for the both of them. He added that it’s now easy to look back. “Naging mas matanda kami, not physically, but mentally naging mas mature kami. And ngayon parang napagtatawanan na lang namin ‘yun. Sabi ko nga, totoo pala talaga ‘yun na after a while na all the bad things that happened to you, pagtatawanan niyo na lang,” he said.
On the status of their relationship, Enchong commented, “We’re rebuilding the foundation of whatever we have last year.”
To make up for the lost time, Enchong even asked the staff of Muling Buksan ang Puso to grant him a free day to spend with Julia. “Nagsabi ako sa production na hopefully na magkaroon kami ng isang araw na mag-wakeboard. Dadalhin ko siya kung saan ako nagwawakeboard.”
He admitted that they already talked things through to start bridging the gap. “Twice kami nagkaroon ng incident na kaming dalawa lang. And ‘yun don pa lang usap-usap, nabigyan na ng magandang result lahat.”
