Abbie Bautista says 'Bromance' star Zanjoe Marudo is like a real kuya to her

<div><img src='' alt='051213-abbie_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>As part of the cast of the upcoming Skylight films comedy <i>Bromance</i>, child star Abbie Bautista said she always has fun especially when working on movie projects with box-office hit director Wenn Deramas. “<i>Magaan lang din po kasi si direk</i> Wenn Deramas<i> kasi lagi ko na siya nakakasama gaya nung sa Petrang Kabayo, Praybeyt Benjamin at Sisterakas, madali lang kasi hindi na kami bagong magkatrabaho. Sobrang bilis niya magtrabaho at sobrang bait din</i>,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Eleven-year-old Abbie has been acting for more than three years now after she was discovered doing TV commercials. In <i>Bromance</i>, she plays the role of niece to Zanjoe Marudo's twin characters Brando and Brandy. “<i>Gusto ko katrabaho si kuya</i> Zanjoe<i> kasi sobrang gaan po, magaan siya talaga katrabaho at mabait,</i>” she revealed during the grand presscon of <i>Bromance</i>.</div><div><br/></div><div>As young as she is, Abbie said she enjoys acting and looks up to the Kapamilya Comedy Queen Ai-Ai De las Alas. She said she hopes to get the chance to work with Ai-Ai someday in another project because they did not have scenes together in the 2012 MMFF top-grosser <i>Sisterakas</i>. “<i>Pagdating sa acting, sa hindi ko pa nakakatrabaho, gusto ko talaga makasama umarte si</i> Ai-Ai Delas Alas<i> po siguro kasi ang galing niya po talaga pagdating sa</i> comedy,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>The commercial model turned actress was also seen as part of the horror movie The Healing last year. But when it comes to her dream role, Abbie said she wants to get the chance to do twin roles like what her kuya Zanjoe did in their movie. “Dream role <i>ko siguro yung parang ganito rin gaya nung kay kuya </i>Zanjoe,<i> pero nagkaroon na rin ako ng ganito, yung</i> dual <i>na </i>role <i>dati sa Wansapanataym,</i>” she added.</div><div><br/></div><div>Although she is still very young, Abbie said she hopes to be able to follow in the footsteps of her celebrity idol Anne Curtis someday. “<i>Si </i>Anne Curtis <i>kasi ang </i>pretty <i>niya tapos ang bait bait pa. Nakasama ko na siya dati sa Who's That Girl. Ang bait talaga niya. Gustong gusto ko talaga maging kagaya niya paglaki ko,</i>” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Catch Abbie Bautista in the Zanjoe Marudo starrer <i>Bromance</i> which opens in theaters on May 15 under Skylight Films. This gender bending comedy's theme song is “<i>Karakaraka,</i>” the single from Vice Ganda's new dance album.
