Precious Lara Quigaman talks about sharing baby duties with husband Marco Alcaraz

<div><img src='' alt='042613-precious_main.jpg' width='305' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Precious Lara Quigaman still couldn’t believe how she kept her pregnancy a secret until her wedding day in July of last year. The news had come as a surprise when her then groom Marco Alcaraz revealed in his wedding vows that they’d be having a baby boy.</div><div><br/></div><div>During her press con as brand ambassador of Anmum Materna, the former beauty queen recalled how nervous she was when she first found out that she was expecting. Unbeknownst to the public, she and Marco secretly tied the knot in a private Christian civil wedding on January 1, 2011. “I came from Bhutan<i> kasi nag-</i>shoot <i>kami</i> for <i>Princess and I.</i> Bhutan <i>tapos</i> stopover<i> sa</i> Bangkok. Late<i> ako ng </i>one day. So<i> bumili ako ng </i>pregnancy kit<i> sa </i>Bangkok.<i> Ako lang mag-isa, nag-</i>test <i>ako</i>, positive, <i>lumabas</i> two lines. I tried again <i>para sigurado, baka iba lang yung</i> pregnancy test <i>sa</i> Bangkok, <i>baka masyadong</i> sensitive, [<i>pero</i>] 2 lines <i>ulit. Sobrang </i>feeling <i>ko sasabog ako kasi magisa lang ako, wala akong kasama, wala akong masabihan. Ayokong tawagan si</i> Marco that time<i> kasi baka paguwi ko wala na. Gusto ko kapag sinabihan ko siya </i>face to face. <i>Pero</i> the joy that I felt was hard to describe to you,<i> sobra talaga. </i>I wrote a letter that day I found out,” she began.</div><div><br/></div><div>Lara further shared with <a href='http://www.Push.com.ph'>Push.com.ph</a> that it took a lot of adjustments now that she’s a mother of a five-month old baby. Apparently, she’s very hands-on with taking care of Noah as she didn’t want to entrust him with a caretaker at this early stage. “<i>Maraming</i> adjustment.<i> Wala kaming yaya ni</i> Marco,<i> siya ngayon ang nagbabantay sa bahay. Hindi siya pwede umalis kasi walang nagaalaga. Hindi na kami pwede basta-basta lumabas kung gusto namin ni</i> Marco. Although we still set a time to go out with just the two of us.<i> Pero</i> the lifestyle change is very big. <i>Lahat ng gagawin namin ni</i> Marco we have to think of the baby.”</div><div><br/></div><div>When asked if she’s an overprotective mom, the 30-year-old admitted that she doesn’t even trust her husband with the baby sometimes. “I’m very protective as a mom. <i>Kahit kay</i> Marco<i> hindi ako masyado nagtitiwala</i>. Feeling<i> ko ilalaglag niya anak namin.</i> Hands on <i>siya pero sobrang gusto na niya kumuha ng</i> yaya <i>kasi nahihirapan siya kapag siya ang nagaalaga.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>They got a nanny once but immediately let her go because she wanted someone whom she could really trust with her baby. “Yes, personal choice <i>na walang yaya.</i> We tried once<i> dahil gusto ng</i> mommy <i>ni </i>Marco <i>kasi nga baka mahirapan daw kami.</i> One week<i> lang naglast kasi pinainom niya yung</i> baby <i>ko ng </i>breast milk <i>na galing sa </i>freezer, <i>hindi niya ininit.</i> So sorry ate, goodbye. We decided <i>na hangga’t kaya natin, </i>we'll take care of him ourselves.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Now that she’s slowly getting back to work though, Lara is starting to train her personal assistant to become Noah’s nanny instead. “It helps <i>na kahit papaano</i> alternate <i>yung </i>work schedule <i>namin ni </i>Marco. <i>Yun lang pareho kaming puyat</i>. So <i>‘pag nagkakasabay kami, naghahanap kami ng tita</i> or <i>pinsan na pwede pumunta sa bahay para magbantay sa</i> baby. <i>Minsan kasama ko sa</i> taping. <i>Ngayon yung </i>yaya<i> ko </i>personally <i>‘pag nagwo</i>-work <i>ako, kinausap ko siya. Kailangan kilala mo eh. Yung </i>baby <i>ko ‘pag nakikita siya ngumingiti siya. Medyo tine-</i>train <i>ko na. Kapag nag</i>-full load <i>na ako ng </i>work, or if ever<i> iwan ko talaga siya sa bahay.</i>” </div><div><br/></div><div>The Anmum Materna brand ambassador also highly recommended drinking milk to expecting moms and even after pregnancy. “Advocate <i>ako ng paginom ng gatas kahit sa mga bata. Alam naman natin na </i>milk is known as the complete food source.<i> Siyempre tayong mga</i> moms <i>nakaexperience na mabuntis, gutom tayo palagi, </i>it really helps our nutrition.” She added that the milk product offers different types of milk for different stages of motherhood and pregnancy.</div>
