After the success of Princess and I and her Star Cinema movie Must be Love, Kathryn Bernardo admitted she is happy to finally have time to focus on her studies. The 17-year-old actress is currently enrolled in the home school program of Angelicum College in Quezon City. “I-congratulate niyo ako kasi natapos ko na Physics at Filipino ko tapos ko na rin. Sa English last exam ko na last weekend tapos matatapos ko na siya. Ang pinoproblema ko na lang social studies and math, yun na lang. Tinatapos ko talaga siya para bago mag-start ang new soap, ma-clear ko na siya. Wala na akong problema para makapag-college na ako,” she shared.

Kathryn even spent most of her Holy Week vacation studying her modules with a personal tutor in order to catch up on her studies. “Kaya ina-araw-araw ko siya ngayon habang walang ginagawa,” she added.

Although she has always been a studious person, Kathryn said she feels a bit regretful about not being able to finish her studies on time. “Hinayang talaga. Pero wala, kapalit naman siguro ito nung kung anong meron ako ngayon so okay lang din basta goal ko tapusin ko na talaga ito. Dati sa OB Montessori super active talaga ako nung second year pero now tina-try ko pa rin. Pero hindi ko naman masasabi na perfect ko lahat kasi nahihirapan din ako kasi ang hirap mag-adjust talaga,” she admitted.

With her busy schedule, Kath opted to enroll in the home school program which is just as challenging as being a regular student because of all the modules she has to study in lieu of attending classes. “Ang hirap niya talaga promise. Nahihirapan ako pag sa self-study. Sa bahay kailangan talaga ng tutor para mag-explain lalo na sa physics. Grabe hirap na hirap ako. Nung Holy Week yun yung ginawa ko sa bahay, nag-aral lang ako ng Physics,” she said.

The talented teen said she is still adjusting to her new school which she has to visit in order to take exams on different subjects. “Parang one year lang naman ako nawala, before nag-su-school naman talaga ako regular schooling. Siguro nahirapan lang ako mag-adjust sa home schooling kasi iba siya eh at saka ang hirap ibang school na rin ako, iba na yung mga kasama ko dun. So hindi rin ganun kadali mag-adjust pero yun na lang kasi yung way para makatapos ako eh,” she said.

This summer, Kath said she hopes to finish all her subjects so she can start college. “Depende pa eh kung matapos ko siya ngayong April. Kasi yun yung target ko kasi last year pa talaga ito eh. Parang ang tagal ko na siyang ginagawa kasi nga nung Princess and I hindi ko masyadong nagawa. So pag natapos ko na siya, baka mag-apply na ako for School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFa) nga or any fashion school or College of St. Benilde mag-ta-try din ako, kung kakayanin! (laughs) Gusto ko talaga advertising and si Miles Ocampo parang yun rin ang gusto, gusto namin kami ang magkakasama. Excited kami pareho. Supposedly ahead ako sa kanya ng one year pero na-late kasi ako ng one year sa Princess and I kaya naging ka-batch ko na si Miles,” she said.

Even though she is also keen on studying Fashion Design, Kath said she also wants to get a degree in Advertising. “Gusto ko talaga mag-CSB kasi advertising gusto ko pero kung hindi na kakayanin ng schedule, sinasabi nilang lahat na mahihirapan ako, so parang mag-SoFa muna ako or fashion design school muna, parang ganun. Para wala ng masayang na time. Pero ewan ko, mag-i-inquire pa lang din ako pag naayos ko na lahat. Basta ngayon tinatapos ko lang muna school ko,” she shared.
