Luis Manzano categorically denied that he had plans to move to a rival network prior his recent contract renewal with ABS-CBN. While he claims that while there’s nothing wrong with weighing options, the host-actor maintained that he didn’t have offers to leave the Kapamilya network. “Wala. Ang sinabi ko naman talaga, I think i did an interview before, totoo naman, kung matapos ang kontrata mo, if mas gusto mo offer sa kabilang istasyon, lumipat ka. Totoo naman, hindi ka naman magpapaka-plastic. Pero nagkataon na wala. I could say that there were no offers din naman from either (channels) 7, 5, 4 or 13—para at least covered na [lahat ng networks], para malinaw na rin wala talaga. I’m here and it’s not just because wala akong offer dahil napakaganda ng inilatag sa akin ng ABS-CBN.”
Luis further shared that he signed a three-year contract which includes new game shows as well as a teleserye. “May mga game show pa na gagawin, may teleserye din, sa ASAP babalik ako. I’m just taking a break. Siguro ngayon mina-maximize lang yung hosting for game shows which may gagawin pa [na bago]. I'm very thankful especially because last year has been very busy. Napakarami ng ginagawa ko. So I guess may nagawa akong tama kaya naisipan ng ABS-CBN to give me another three years."
When asked about his short stint in the top-rating teleserye Be Careful With My Heart, Luis said that he really enjoyed adding spice to the love story of Maya and Sir Chief, played by Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, respectively. But it would be difficult for him to juggle a teleserye as well as a daily game show at this point in time. "Unang-una guest lang naman ako. Second, sa mga nakakasubaybay, ginagawa ko daily show, Minute to Win It, Deal or No Deal, at Pilipinas Got Talent, napakahirap isingit sa schedule ng Be Careful dahil super busy sila and very unfair din naman kung darating ako guest na lang ako may cut off pa ako. 'Di ba ang feeling ko naman nun? Ano ang gwapo ko? Hopefully, makabalik ako paminsan minsan as Captain James Ventura sa kanila para mangulit kay Maya and Sir Chief."
As for his upcoming teleserye, Luis admitted that he's not really looking for a lead role since acting is not really his main priority. "Hindi naman catering ako dun. You know, when ABS-CBN has a teleserye hindi naman ako ang prime leading man, hindi naman ako ganong stature, ako yung nangungulit lang sa teleserye. Kakayanin [ko naman magteleserye] pero with my schedule at this moment, medyo mahirap pa magka-teleserye."
