Kris Aquino files temporary protection order against James Yap due to 'overt sexual advances'

032013-kris_main.jpgKris Aquino filed a temporary protection order against ex-husband James Yap, accusing him of making “overt sexual advances” towards her and inflicting “psychological harm” to their son Bimby, who allegedly witnessed the tiff that followed between the two, according to a news report from Philippine Daily Inquirer earlier today, March 20.

Based on the said petition, James allegedly forced himself on Kris “as if he was entitled to his matrimonial rites” during one of his visits at the host-actress’s condominium unit last December. He was only supposed to pick up Bimby when he attempted to seduce Kris, who in turn, resisted his sexual advances. This allegedly provoked Yap to “utter mean and malicious statements” towards Kris in full view of their five-year-old son. The petition further cited that Bimby was visibly upset by the whole incident and even asked his dad to “stop hurting” his mom.

This resulted to the TPO that Kris filed at the Makati City court, ordering James to keep a distance of at least 100 meters away from her, Bimby, and any member of their household, effective for 30 days upon its issuance. The petition, as quoted by the Inquirer, also asked the court for the protection order to be made permanent given that “the physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and moral harm and injury foisted (on that day) was occasioned by the unfettered access of respondent Yap on the household and persons of the petitioners.”

This latest development was probably what prompted Kris to say that she and James are not on good terms during the press conference of her movie Sisterakas last December. “It's easy to tell all of you na, 'Yes, we're friends, we're good and all.' We're not. I think we're better off having distance from each other, kasi nami-misinterpret namin ang isa't isa. I hold no bitterness in my heart, but I have no desire for any closeness.”

Kris and James' marriage was annulled February of 2012, with a settlement worth million of pesos plus several properties that went to the star cager. In a report from ABS-CBNNews.com last February, Kris also expressed her sentiments about the hefty settlement that she paid James in exchange of her peace of mind. “With the millions he got from me and I wish they’d just let me have peace. Di ko kaya ginugulo. I more than 'paid' for my peace already. Don’t dare me to name the amount because then everyone will know why I’m so afraid of being used again, because si Josh and Bimb ang nabawasan ang savings for their future.”

As of press time, James Yap is reportedly holding a press conference to answer the allegations mentioned above.
