Piolo Pascual shares that he and his son's mom set aside their differences when it comes to raising their kid.
Piolo Pascual said that he will most likely spend Valentine’s Day resting, he told Kris Aquino on Kris TV
last February 6, when asked what his plans were for that day.
“Actually, I was thinking about it,” began Piolo. “I was asked the same question a couple of days ago, especially Valentine’s … pahinga na muna tayo. Masaya naman tayo sa trabaho. There are a lot of things na pwede nating pagtustusan ng oras natin at panahon, so dumarating at dumarating ‘yan, di naman pinaplano ‘yan.”
At one point in the said episode, Kris asked Piolo if he has communication with son Iñigo’s mom. “Oh, yeah!” the actor replied. “There is mutual respect. Importante ‘yon. We’re doing it, we’re being selfless for the kid.”
He continued that maintaining proper communications with his son’s mother is not something easy because it is something that could be for a “lifetime” for the sake of their kid. Piolo went on to say that he and the mom both need to exert efforts “for the kid.”
“It’s not about you. You have to think about the kid,” stressed Piolo. “Siya ‘yung involved dun, eh. Ang ibinigay mo broken family and he didn’t deserve that. So wala namang magagawa ang bata, so the only thing you can do is to be civil. You think things for your son or your daughter.”
Iñigo lives with his mom in the United States and Piolo is all praises for his son’s mom because she makes it a point to consult him when it comes to making decisions that concerns their son.
Piolo shared, “The mom of Iñigo, she involves me in everything that my son does. Pinapakita niya, ini-email niya ko, ‘yung report card ng bata, ‘yung mga improvement niya sa school; pag may mga problema sila; pag may mga male problems, sa akin niya dinidiretso. So we’re very open.”
When Kris complimented both Piolo and Iñigo’s mom for raising their son well, Piolo suggested that more credit should be given to the mother of his son for making sure that Piolo is given respect as the kid’s father.
Kris then revealed that she and former husband James Yap do not talk anymore and they relay messages to each other via their kid’s yaya.
response to this, Piolo told Kris that there will come a time that former partners will need to set aside their differences and talk directly for the sake of their kid or kids. He said that this could happen when all the hurt and pain they harbor have been set aside.
In the meantime, Piolo is excited about Apoy Sa Dagat, his teleserye with Angelica Panganiban and Diether Ocampo that will air beginning February 11.
