Kris Aquino says her teleserye with Robin Padilla will end in April, but the actor's marriage with Mariel Rodriguez is forever.
Kris Aquino decided to talk about the recent issue that involved her Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw
co-star Robin Padilla and his wife Mariel Rodriguez just to clear up any misunderstandings. The Queen of All Media added that she wanted to put an end to the issue and that it would be the last time she would talk about the controversy. Robin had previously revealed that wife Mariel became jealous when he and Kris had an intimate scene in their teleserye Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw.
“I was also young, I was also immature, ‘yung parang pinagdaanan ko rin naman ‘yan before kaya inunawa ko na lang,” said the actress-host at the press conference of the reality-based TV show Pilipinas Got Talent Season IV, which will premiere on February 16, Saturday.
Kris continued that in her opinion, the issue didn’t deserve to be a cause of the couple’s misunderstanding. “And di ba a series would end. By April we’re done, but hopefully a marriage is forever, so ‘yun lang. It was not worth any conflict and parang kahit na maraming nanunulsol sa akin and all, di ko pinansin talaga, kasi wala naman talaga akong mapapala do’n eh. At ang importante mapanatili nila ‘yung pagmamahalan nila sa isa’t-isa.”
Robin said in his interview on The Buzz last February 10, that Kris played a vital role for him and Mariel to patch things up. Kris called up Mariel to appease her, so the latter talked to her husband and put an end to their rift.
In the meantime, Kris is celebrating her 42nd birthday on February 14 in Siargao. She will be with her two sons, friend Zsa Zsa Padilla, and her sister Pinky and Pinky’s husband (who are celebrating their wedding anniversary).
She also shared how she decided on Siargao as the place to celebrate her birthday. “I read about this island in Siargao kasi di ba meron ‘yung German and French furniture-maker in Cebu, ‘yung Dedon. Tapos I know sila ‘yung premiere outdoor furniture (importer) all over the world, tapos they employ close to 2,000 Cebuanos and then they decided to invest in Siargao to invest in an island paradise para ma-showcase nila daw ang gawa nila at gawa ng mga Pinoy,” she related.
Eventually, she became friends with the business owners, so Kris arranged to go to Siargao where there will be fun activities for the entire group such as trekking, some water activities, and a cooking class, which Kris is looking forward to.
Asked about the status of her happiness, Kris revealed, “Wala naman akong karapatang malungkot. Maraming ibang mga namomroblema at mas marami ang mabibigat ang pinagdadaanan kesa sa akin, so okay na okay naman ako.”
As for her love life, Kris said that she does not need to force it. “Kung wala naman, eh ‘di wala. Parang feeling ko naman sobra-sobra naman ang love na ibinibigay sa akin ng mga anak ko, ng pamilya ko, so if it would come, super bonus na from God. Pero kung di pa siya darating, okay lang din.”
