Yeng Constantino: 'Kailangan alagaan ang puso. Hindi biro magmahal.'

021313-yeng_main.jpgYeng Constantino might have tweeted some love-inspired statements recently, but she told Push.com.ph that she’s not going steady with anyone right now. The pretty singer added that she would be very vocal about it if she happens to be in a relationship. “Kung sakali man merong bago sa love life ko, matutuklasan din agad. For sure, makikita nila na ako pa ang unang nag-I love you. Malalaman nila ‘yan agad. Ako naman yung tao na ayoko nagsisikreto. So ngayon habang antay-antay, chill lang naman.”

The 24-year-old didn’t deny, however, that she’s open to entertaining suitors. “Siyempre open naman ako. Ilang taon na rin naman ako. So kailangan ko din maging open sa guys na lumalapit and be friends with them, to know them. We'll see kung saan pupunta. Yung direksyon ba pang seryosohan or parang ano lang. ‘Pag seryoso pwede na siguro.”

Yeng further shared that she’s not the type who’ll enter a relationship for the sake of having a boyfriend. “Antay-antay muna tayo. Para safe rin, kasi siyempre kailangan alagaan ang puso. Hindi biro magmahal.”

In the meantime, Yeng happily shared that her latest album Metamorphosis is doing well in records bars. She actually write nine out of the ten tracks in the album, which are mostly songs about love. But her most notable transformation is the electronic music arrangement of her songs. “Meron siyang element na electronic at the same time not losing my genre which is pop rock. It’s a reinvention stage for me as a musician and transformation as a person.” Some of the listeners’ favorites in Metamorphosis include “B.A.B.A.Y.,” “Pag-ibig,” “Chinito (written by Jed Dumawal),” “Messiah,” and “Hahanapin Kita.”

Yeng’s single “Alaala” (words and music by Ma. Fe Mechenette G. Tianga, Melvin Huervana and Joel O. Jabat Jr.) from the Himig Handog 2013 P-pop Love Songs album has also been getting a lot of positive feedback as well. On her part, Yeng welcomes the new breed of songwriters who participated in the popular songwriting competition. “Masaya ako na parte ako nung batch na kumanta nito. At yung new songwriters ngayon talagang magagaling sila. Sobrang honor for me na makanta ko yung sinulat nila. Dati dun din naman ako nagumpisa. Hindi naman talaga ako kilala na songwriter. Pero praise God nag-pay off yung hard work ko at blessed din naman ako. So it’s time to really bless other people.”
