“Sa lahat ng mga nanakit sa akin, thank you, pinagkakitaan ko siya,” Sarah Geronimo jokingly exclaimed after her moving performance of “Breakaway,” her statement song for the finale of Sarah G Live, aired last Sunday night, February 10.
Without mentioning names, the Popstar Princess remained truthful to her fans about the heartbreak she went through last year. The show witnessed how she developed romantic feelings for former Won’t Last Without You leading man Gerald Anderson—who guest starred on Sarah G Live a few times—up to the time Sarah’s mom let it slip that the actor had stopped courting the Popstar Princess.
Sarah confirmed this in the VTR that was shown wherein she stated: “Kung hindi dahil sa show na ito, hindi ko mae-experience ang maraming firsts sa buhay ko. Wala akong chance na mas mapalapit at mas makilala pa lalo ang supporters ko. Hindi ko malalaman na marami pa pala akong kayang gawin. Higit sa lahat, kung hindi dahil sa Sarah G Live, sa suporta at pagmamahal na ipinakita ninyo, hindi ko makakayang bumangon mula sa pagkakadapa ko.”
During her segment with special guest John Lloyd Cruz, Sarah shared that it was really a challenge for her to deliver a good show especially at times when she felt really down. “Natutunan ko na ‘di sapat yung inaaral mo lang yung choreography mo, nagpro-project ka sa camera...Talagang you really have to give all your heart while performing, kahit na meron kang pinagdadaanan, meron kang problema… Ang importante talaga bilang performer, binibigay mo ang lahat, the show must go on. At natutunan ko po ang self control.”
At the same time, she acknowledged the instances when she couldn’t contain her emotions and just speak up about certain issues in her personal life. The most recent of which was when she uttered her “womanizer” comment reportedly pertaining to Gerald. “Pero pagpasensiyahan niyo na po, sinabi nila sa akin before the show started, ‘Sarah just be yourself.’ Sinubukan ko po magpakatotoo, may mga ibang ‘di tinanggap yung pagpapakatotoo ko, pero naging totoo ako sa sarili ko.”
John Lloyd also teased Sarah about the similarities between her and her character Laida Magtalas in their upcoming movie It Takes A Man And A Woman. According to the three-time Box Office King, Sarah could relate to the scene wherein Laida saw Miggy (played by John Lloyd) with another woman. “Hindi, kasi alam mo, napakalaking bagay talaga yung experience mo sa life. Yun talaga panghuhugutan mo ng tamang emotions. Nagkataon pareho kami ng pinagdadaanan ni Laida. Parang may ganon. So abangan ni’yo. At saka yung New York natin, napakaganda ng mga eksena natin sa New York.”
Finally, Sarah thanked all her solid fans for always supporting her endeavors, whether in showbiz or her personal life. “Thank you po sa inyong lahat dahil tinanggap niyo po ako kahit baguhan lang akong host. Marami po akong naging pagkakamali pero tinanggap niyo po ako, yung mga totoong nagmamahal sa akin, yung mga sintunado ko tinanggap niyo pa rin ako, maraming salamat.”
