Shaina Magdayao on working with Paulo Avelino: 'Parang napadali yung trabaho ko'

123113-Shaina_Main.jpgAs part of Star Cinema’s Metro Manila Film Fest entry Pagpag, Shaina Magdayao admitted she has learned about Filipino superstition and beliefs during the making of the film. “Sinisigurado ko na nagpapagpag ako so walang nangyayari sa akin pero dahil nagawa ko itong film na ito mas na-educate ako sa mga pamahiin natin so siguro mas magiging aware ako next time so I have yet to find out kung may mangyayari sa akin (laughs),” she said.

In the horror flick, Shaina is paired with kapamilya hunk Paulo Avelino for the very first time. The 24-year-old actress said they were able to work well together even if they did not have time to build up rapport with each other off screen. “Actually walang workshop na nangyari, not even any bonding session. Alam naman din nating lahat na magaling talaga si Paulo and he’s very, very professional. Although mahirap yung roles namin and yung plot namin, walang hirap namin na-deliver,” she said.

Shaina also said she was impressed with how professional lead stars Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo were during the making of the film despite their hectic work schedule. “It’s more of yung suporta namin sa director, more of teamwork. I just have to say na kita naming yung todong segue ng segue from taping tapos dito kaya totoo yung sabi nilang dalawa na talagang pinaghirapan at pinagpuyatan ang movie na ito,” she admitted.

The pretty actress also weighed in on how meaningful the holidays are for her and her family this year after being affected by typhoon Yolanda. Some of Shaina’s relatives are still based in the Visayas. And because God is good they are home with us so masaya ang Pasko ko,” she said.

Shaina also shared her Christmas wish for everyone this year. “Sana mag-tuloy tuloy yung pagbangon nating lahat at maging mas masaya ang ating Pasko. We’re all here. We’re all parang given another chance so sana ay mas ma-treasure natin katulad nung pag-te-treasure ko ng aking taon ngayon. Sabi ko nga this is my third family, bagong mga kaibigan ko this year. So sana ay maging mas maliwanag at mas masaya ang aking 2014,” she added.
