Will Bossing Vic Sotto do a sitcom with ABS-CBN? In an interview with entertainment reporters during the press conference for the movie My Little Bossings, host-actress Kris Aquino revealed that the veteran host-comedian was in offered by ABS-CBN a project in the past.
“Ang unang nagpasabi, I can admit that, na it’s Tita Cory Vidanes. Way back, 2002 yata 'yun, nag-guest si Vic sa Game Ka Na Ba. One of the highest rated episodes nung time na 'yun,” Kris revealed.
According to her, the negotiations even went as far as Vic meeting ABS-CBN’s Cory Vidanes “para gumawa sana siya ng sitcom sa ABS.”
However, the negotiations didn’t advance to become a full-on contract signing because, as Kris says, “That was the time din na re-negotiations with GMA. Tinapatan [ng GMA ang offer]. So hindi natuloy 'yung sa ABS kahit dalawa or tatlong meetings na.”
It seems though that the offer still stands for Vic. “So nung nakiki-meeting ako kay Tita Cory para sa TV rights [ng movie], siya nagpaalala. Sabi niya, ‘Please remind Vic na 11 or 12 years ago, hinintay ko na ito. Baka naman ngayon puwede na,’” Kris quoted the ABS-CBN executive as saying.
Acting as if she were a middleman to the entire negotiation, Kris then shared what she learned from the Kapamilya boss to Vic. But before they could push through with another meeting the 59-year-old actor asked the Kris TV host that they first prioritize their project, her son Bimby’s debut film for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival.
“Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Puwede ba Kris tapusin muna natin ito tapos mamaya na lang iyan.’ So sabi ko, ‘But they are going to pay you a lot.’ Pero relaxed lang talaga siya. So sabi ko, ‘Okay, kung kailan ka na lang ready,’” she said.
If ever Vic changes his mind, though, Kris noted that he could actually transfer to ABS-CBN because the noontime show that he’s hosts apparently doesn’t have a contract with GMA since it is produced by TAPE Inc.
