Melanie Marquez believes her strong faith will lead to her fast recovery

121613-Melanie-main.jpgLast December 7. former Miss International Melanie Marquez got into a car accident while driving home to Andella, Utah from Las Vegas, Nevada. According to her daughter Maxine Bumgardner, at around 5:30PM, Melanie’s vehicle slipped on a patch of ice on the highway, causing it to fall in a 12-foot deep canal.

Melanie was immediately rushed to St. George Hospital in Utah with her 12 year old son Adam, who was also with her when the incident happened.

“It’s an angel who lift me up. I know very well someone was with me there. I was bleeding there, [and hoping] for someone to stop. I was really hoping, praying before it got dark we will be rescued,” Melanie related during an interview shown by “Buzz Ng Bayan” inside her hospital room.

Adam suffered only minor injuries but Melanie sustained a fractured spine and sternum.  The actress/model has to wear a back brace for 3 months to fully recover from her injuries.

“I know I will recover with all the support. I know me. I know with my faith, my faith never fails me,” she said positively of her situation.
