Dimples Romana says she enjoys sharing hosting duties with Xian Lim and Matteo Guidicelli.
Currently busy with hosting duties on her weekly show Kabuhayang Swak na Swak
, Dimples Romana admitted she has learned a lot from the past two years of being on the show. “The show is just a very good training ground in terms of hosting. They give us very, very good freedom in terms of hosting. They’ve already given me my own segment which is called Dimple’s corner where we feature mga
inspiring celebrities and also people who come from humble beginnings who are now successful in their own fields,” she said.
The 29-year-old host-actress also hosts Promil Pre-School I-Shine Talent Camp every quarter with Xian Lim and Matteo Guidicelli which is also another program she is very proud of. “It was recently nominated in Star Awards so I’m very proud. We’re just starting as hosts, kami nila Xian at Matteo and I’m also hosting a Global ABS-CBN show, which is TFC Connect. We connect Filipino families from all over the world to their families here. We get to talk to them, we give them surprises and stuff,” she shared.
Dimples said she could not ask for better co-hosts than Matteo and Xian. “The boys are really just fantastic kasi these boys are really little boys, (laughs) every time I look at them they call me, ‘Mommy Dimps,’ alam mo yun na we’re the kind of friends where we don’t need to see each other very often but every time we do we really make sure that we talk to each other and we update each other about each other’s lives. At saka dito sa industriya natin bihirang makahanap ka ng totoo sa iyo at itong dalawang ito they’re very, very good to me,” she added.
The Kabuhayang Swak na Swak host also recently finished working on a horror movie which will be shown next year.
Aside from her career, she is also busy as homemaker and mom to her only daughter Callie. “My daughter Callie is now taking up classes for cake decorating basics. She’s my only child so we really encourage her to do what she wants to do and if she decides to stop then we support her too. As children you want them to really find out what they want and for that to happen you will have to explore with them also. Kasi if I say ‘no’ to everything, that will not help her at all. When she was smaller she wanted to be a basurera, I completely said yes to that because she wanted to clean up the environment. Now she wants to be an architect like Shamcey Supsup. She tells me, ‘Mommy, I want to be like Shamcey. I want to study in London for architecture.’ Kasi we travel a lot eh. I guess that factors in na nakikita niya yung different structures, na-cu-curious siya to draw and to build so now she wants to be an architect but at the same time she wants to have her own bakery,” she said.
Aside from baking together, Dimples said she and her husband try their best to raise Callie as an independent young girl. “The type of parenting we do at home is really more of freedom. She has the time to say whatever she wants to say, but with limitations. She knows how to respect people. Mas maganda kasi i-moderate kesa pigilan eh. Di ba pag pinigilan mo ang bata, hindi siya matututong magsalita for herself especially now that bullying is now a big factor in schools, I wouldn’t want my daughter to be bullied. Bully-proof si Callie kasi outspoken siya. She really says what she wants to say with respect,” she said.
