Jake Cuenca on being linked to Anne Curtis's bar incident: 'I didn't bang any doors, I didn't even get to say 'hi' to Anne kasi by the time I came to that place, which was Prive nakaalis na ang lahat'
Speaking at length for the first time for purportedly being involved in the scandalous bar meltdown of Anne Curtis, actor Jake Cuenca bluntly admitted that he was peeved by the “imbentong kwento”
about him that’s been making rounds online lately.
A few days ago, Jake, via a series of posts on his social media accounts, belied reports that he and John Lloyd Cruz supposedly pulled a prank on Anne, which allegedly annoyed the actress hence her misbehavior.
“Um haters im [sic] a little bit too old to be pulling pranks on anyone and if you know me thats [sic] not my style. Get your facts straight guys,” he posted on twitter.
Jake also said his piece via Instagram, “If you are just gonna [sic] gossip do it right know your facts and dont [sic] involve people who had nothing to do with the issue...”
In an interview during the Kwento ng Pasko: Pag-asa at Pagbangon solidarity concert held at the Araneta Coliseum on December 10, Jake was firm in saying that, “Wala, wala akong maishe-share, wala akong maico-contribute sa kwento kasi hindi ko talaga nakita.”
While he confessed to being at the venue, Jake explained that he wasn’t anywhere near Anne or John Lloyd when the incident occurred. “Yeah I was there kasi may event. We have a lot of common friends eh pero wala ako nung nangyari nung instance na ‘yon. Kasama ko ang iba kong kaibigan. Hindi naman porket andun si John Lloyd, andun si Anne, andun ako ibig sabihin magkabarkada kami at magkakasama kami doon, di ba?” the Maria Mercedes actor asked.
Since he wasn’t in the vicinity, Jake shared that he only learned about Anne’s meltdown through second-hand stories. “Kung papaano nalaman ng tao ‘yan ganon ko lang rin nalaman. Nandoon lang ako then naikwento sa akin ‘yung nangyari but again pareho 3 silang kaibigan ko,” he underscored.
He continued, “I didn’t bang any doors, I didn’t even get to say ‘hi’ to Anne kasi by the time I came to that place, which was Prive nakaalis na ang lahat.”
But why has he decided to speak up on the issue if he wasn’t involved? “Nag-tweet ako, nag-Instagram ako ng ganon kasi nagagalit ako sa mga imbentong kwento na lumabas kasi hindi ko talaga nakita si Anne no’n and a few days nung lumabas ‘yung issue nag-usap kami ni Anne and sinabi niya at nung friends niya na wala ako talaga doon. Ang sa akin wala akong dineny na issue ever since whether it be positive or negative, whether may galit sa akin or masaya sa akin, I never denied anything. But this time magagalit talaga ako kasi hindi ako nagsinungaling, wala akong nakita at pangalawa nakaka-badtrip kasi nga imbento ‘yung kwento eh,” he explained to the press.
Jake said that he would be more than willing to face the consequences of his actions if he really did something. But the problem is, as he says, this time he did nothing to cause Anne’s unruly behavior. “Sa akin lang, sana lang talaga, hindi lang para sa akin pero para rin sa ibang artista rin naman. Sa akin maraming issue na tinatapon na ganyan pero kapag ganito kalaki, siguro kailangan naman totoo na. Kailangan may facts,” Jake enthused.
In parting, he appealed to the public to quit judging Anne due to this singular incident. “And for anything else, wala rin naman siguro sa posisyon ang mga tao na manghusga kasi lahat naman tayo nagkakamali at lahat tayo nagkakaroon ng instance na ganyan,” he ended.
