112213-Karla_Main.jpgKarla Estrada was all smiles and relieved now that she has been reunited with her mom in Manila after the latter survived Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban. The actress held a thanksgiving mass at her residence last November 20, 2013, Wednesday. “Ang thanksgiving mass ay para sa safe return ng nanay ko na lahat sila, na sa dinamidami ng sinalanta, ng namatay, na napakaliit ng Tacloban ay na-spare ang family ko kaya talagang thank you very much sa Panginoon,” she said in an interview with the media at her home.

Though she was emotional, Karla kept her cool when she reunited with her mom to not stress the latter more.

Karla relayed that her mother is traumatized by her experience with Yolanda.

She has scheduled her mom for an appointment with some medical personnel to promote recovery. Siguro si mama mga after two weeks pa kasi ngayon pag tinanong mo siya umiiyak siya eh, very emotional,” she shared.

Though Karla is glad to be reunited with her mom, half of her heart is in pain knowing that her other relatives unfortunately were not spared from the catastrophe.

Karla’s brother and his kids were left back at Tacloban to look after their home which was spared from the typhoon.

The actress also celebrated her birthday last Wednesday. She was surprised with a party by her close friends. “Sa tagal ng panahon I don’t even remember when was the last time na I was surprised for my birthday with a party, di ko na maalala. For me this is the first time na sinurpise ako kasi laging ako, so don sa mga nag-abala eh salamat,” she said.
