Enchong Dee downplays alleged rivalry with Enrique Gil

112013-Enchong_main.jpgOn his upcoming comedy film Call Center Girl, Enchong Dee takes on the role of Jessy Mendiola’s competitive colleague who snags every opportunity that’s meant for her in the call center company where they work. In real life, though, Enchong is not one to make a huge fuss about his so-called competition. Enchong, who’s being pitted against his former Muling Buksan Ang Puso co-star Enrique Gil of late, clarified that no rivalry exists between them.

Hindi. Rivals ba? Like ngayon ang pino-promote niya concert, ako [naman] movie and hindi ako makakita ng isang bagay kung bakit kami magiging rivals,” the actor said during an interview at the blogger’s conference for his upcoming film last Tuesday.

Although he’s used to being compared to other stars of his generation, Enchong doesn’t see it as a hindrance or a burden in his continuously flourishing career.

His co-star, comedienne Pokwang, affirmed his claim. Off cam, nakita ko ‘yun,” the comedienne chimed in.

With Enrique set to hold his first-ever dance concert titled King of the Gil at the Araneta Coliseum next week, Enchong was asked how he would be showing his support for his “brother.”

Enchong recently celebrated his 25th birthday with a private party attended by his closest friends such as Arjo Atayde, Erich Gonzales, Joseph Marco, Rayver Cruz, Empress, Rodjun Cruz, Alex Gonzaga, Dianne Medina, and his Call Center Girl co-stars Pokwang and Jessy, among others.

He revealed though that his little sister will be enjoying the dance concert.

Inasmuch as he wants to be able to see Enrique’s concert, Enchong shared that he won’t be in the country at the time because “Meron kaming TFC show. Sayang pero there will be a next time sure ‘yon sa magiging success ng concert niya.”
