Iza Calzado on her ABS-CBN projects: 'It pays to wait and to trust that right project will come your way.'
Proving that her move to ABS-CBN wasn’t a bad decision after all, actress Iza Calzado assured her fans that the network is taking good care of her career. Many have been worried that Iza’s career is allegedly going downhill and her talent being put to waste since she had a relatively minimal exposure since her transfer last year.
Among her Kapamilya projects are two now-defunct soaps, namely Kahit Puso'y Masugatan opposite Jake Cuenca, Andi Eigenmann, and Gabby Concepcion and Muling Buksan Ang Puso together with Julia Montes, Enrique Gil, and Enchong Dee, and a handful of episodes for Maalaala Mo Kaya.
The actress proved the speculations wrong during the recently-concluded press announcement of the ABS-CBN family soap You’re My Home which is slated to air next year. "It pays to wait and to trust that right project will come your way. I'm so grateful because this project is so good and it's exactly what I'm looking for," Iza said during an interview with Push.com.ph and other members of the press.
The 31-year-old actress will also be hosting The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition: Doubles which will start airing come January next year. According to Iza, they are already halfway through the newest season. "Hindi ko lang siya mai-post masyado sa social media because of the nature of the show."
The successful first season hosted by Sharon Cuneta and Derek Ramsay ran from May to October 2011 and eventually declared former police officer Larry Martin as its first winner.
This time, Iza will be joined by I Dare You host Robi Domingo and Galema star Matteo Guidicelli.
Iza shared that this season, as with the previous one, would be teeming with inspiration and motivation. "It's such an inspiring show and I can't wait for the whole world to watch it. Ako bilang host, nanliliit ako sa determinasyon at disiplina na ipinapakita ng mga contestants ng Biggest Loser Doubles. It will be an amazing show," she declared.
As an individual who personally battled a weight problem in the past, Iza underscored that the show is “very personal” to her. “Dinamayan ko talaga sila sa kanilang hirap. As in literal na napagod ako," the actress said.
Apart from the Biggest Loser Doubles, Iza will also be seen on the big screen in the Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga-starrer Unlove You and the upcoming television series You're My Home with Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez, Ella Cruz, Francis Magundayao, Shaina Magdayao, and Enchong Dee.
