After being paired with Enrique Gil for the first time in Star Cinema's romantic-comedy She's the One, Bea Alonzo admitted she was impressed with her younger leading man who plays a love-struck student who falls in love with her after a chance encounter in the rain. “Natutuwa ako sa kanya kasi nakita ko yung dedication niya sa trabaho niya and refreshing to work with someone younger. Parang breath of fresh air nga sinasabi ko tuwing andun siya sa set. Iba talaga yung energy na naibibigay niya. So I'm very thankful na nakatrabaho ko si Quen,” she admitted.
After portraying heavy dramatic roles in films like One More Chance, And I Love You So and The Mistress, Bea said she was happy to play a more lighthearted role. “Well it's been a while since gumawa ako ng ganito ka-light na project, it felt good for me kasi parang at least nababago yung mga ginagawa ko with the help of direk na talagang tinutukan talaga ako sa bawat reaction shots ko dito kasi at some point nagiging de-kahon na ako in terms of drama sa bawat reaction ko. Kung hindi niya ako tinutukan siguro hindi magiging maayos yung performance or yung buong character siya talaga yung bumuo. It feels good dahil hindi na-su-stuck sa isang genre lang and it was a fun experience,” she said.
Bea said it was also a good experience for her to work with Dingdong Dantes who did not disappoint her when it came to acting. “Bago ko pa siya nakatrabaho, madami na akong magagandang bagay na naririnig tungkol sa kanya from Zanjoe (Marudo) pa lang and from other friends na nakatrabaho niya. And I must say hindi sila nagkamali. Ang sarap makatrabaho ni Dong kasi wala siyang reklamo, madami siyang pakisamahan. Every time I would go to the set of She's The One, parang lagi akong may excitement, hindi yung parang dina-drag ko yung sarili ko papunta ng trabaho. Insiisip ko ano kayang fun experience ang mangyayari today? Because may Dingdong and the other cast members,” she added.
Although she revealed she is still in talks to do any television projects, Bea admitted her latest character is one of her onscreen favorites. The 26-year-old actress plays the role of Cat, a responsible business owner who grew up as head of household to her siblings and grandparents. “Yung character ko kasi naulila sila ng maaga pa lang, college days. She has three siblings, yung isa may Down Syndrome tapos lumaki siya sa lolo and lola niya. So dun pa lang makikita mo na talaga yung strength ng character na siya yung kailangan tumayo for the family at wala siyang time for love,” she shared.
