Bea Alonzo on being paired with Enrique Gil for the first time: 'Natutuwa ako sa kanya'

<div><img src='' alt='110113-Bea_Main.jpg' width='306' height='290' align='left' border='0'>After being paired with Enrique Gil for the first time in Star Cinema's romantic-comedy <i>She's the One</i>, Bea Alonzo admitted she was impressed with her younger leading man who plays a love-struck student who falls in love with her after a chance encounter in the rain. “<i>Natutuwa ako sa kanya kasi nakita ko yung</i> dedication <i>niya sa trabaho niya</i> and refreshing to work with someone younger. <i>Parang</i> breath of fresh air <i>nga sinasabi ko tuwing andun siya sa</i> set. I<i>ba talaga yung</i> energy <i>na naibibigay niya</i>. So I'm very thankful <i>na nakatrabaho ko si</i> Quen,” she admitted.</div><div><br/></div><div>After portraying heavy dramatic roles in films like <i>One More Chance, And I Love You So and The Mistress,</i> Bea said she was happy to play a more lighthearted role. “Well it's been a while since <i>gumawa ako ng ganito ka-</i>light <i>na </i>project, it felt good for me <i>kasi parang </i>at least <i>nababago yung mga ginagawa ko </i>with the help of <i>direk na talagang tinutukan talaga ako sa bawat</i> reaction shots <i>ko dito kasi</i> at some point <i>nagiging de-kahon na ako </i>in terms of drama <i>sa bawat reaction ko. Kung hindi niya ako tinutukan siguro hindi magiging maayos yung</i> performance or <i>yung buong</i> character <i>siya talaga yung bumuo. </i>It feels good <i>dahil hindi na-su-</i>stuck <i>sa isang </i>genre<i> lang </i>and it was a fun experience,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Bea said it was also a good experience for her to work with Dingdong Dantes who did not disappoint her when it came to acting. <i>“Bago ko pa siya nakatrabaho, madami na akong magagandang bagay na naririnig tungkol sa kanya from Zanjoe (Marudo) pa lang </i>and from other friends <i>na nakatrabaho niya.</i> And I must say<i> hindi sila nagkamali. Ang sarap makatrabaho ni Dong kasi wala siyang reklamo, madami siyang pakisamahan.</i> Every time I would go to the set of <i>She's The One</i>,<i> parang lagi akong may</i> excitement, <i>hindi yung parang dina-</i>drag <i>ko yung sarili ko papunta ng trabaho. Insiisip ko ano kayang</i> fun experience <i>ang mangyayari today?</i> Because may Dingdong and the other cast members,” she added.</div><div><br/></div><div>Although she revealed she is still in talks to do any television projects, Bea admitted her latest character is one of her onscreen favorites. The 26-year-old actress plays the role of Cat, a responsible business owner who grew up as head of household to her siblings and grandparents.<i> “Yung </i>character<i> ko kasi naulila sila ng maaga pa lang, </i>college days. She has three siblings, <i>yung isa may</i> Down Syndrome <i>tapos lumaki siya sa lolo and lola niya.</i> So <i>dun pa lang makikita mo na talaga yung</i> strength <i>ng</i> character <i>na siya yung kailangan tumayo </i>for the family at <i>wala siyang </i>time for love,” she shared.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>She's The One</i> is currently being shown in 42 theaters across US and Canada until November 7, 2013.
