Dingdong Dantes shares why Marian Rivera is 'The One': 'She's seen me at my worst'

100913-DingDong_Main.jpgIn his latest movie project with Star Cinema She’s The One, Dingdong Dantes revealed he will play a different kind of role. “Kumbaga sa tema pa lang, magkaiba siya dahil yung nakaraang dalawang pelikula ay seryoso at mabigat, minsan may pagka-horror pa. Eto naman ay isang light love story, a romantic-comedy so it’s something different para sa akin na isang bagay na gustong gusto ko rin gawin,” he said of his roles in Metro Manila Film Fest films One More Try and Segunda Mano.

The 33-year-old actor said working with Bea Alonzo and the entire production was a positive experience for him. “Sabi ko nga pagdating ko pa lang sa set, it’s the whole troupe from the director hanggang sa mga kasama namin, especially of course kay Bea, naramdaman ko na they were very generous in terms of yung pagbibigay ng sarili niya kasi minsan yun ang kailangan para maging kampante ang isang tao kasi pag meron kang ilang factor yun ang medyo delikado,” he shared.

Putting to rest the rumors saying that Marian Rivera had issues over his onscreen pairing with Bea, Dingdong said on the contrary, his girlfriend was very supportive of his project. “We’re very thankful to our respective partners for giving us support. It makes life easier for us. Even before we shot nagkita na sila ni Bea. She was happy for my project. Alam naman niya yung kuwento and sino ba namang hindi matutuwa sa kuwento dahil siguro all of us once in our lives meron tayong ganitong klaseng storya,” he revealed. In She’s The One, he plays the role of a man who does not realize he has feelings for his best friend played by Bea.

Dingdong said he can relate to the movie in a sense that he fell for Marian only after they worked in a show together in another network. “Nag-start din kami as friends pero siyempre nandun lang siya before pero hindi mo naman ma-ri-realize yun hanggang sa nagkahiwalay kami dahil after nung show, so mami-miss mo yun. So yun yung mga pagkakataon na iisipin mo bakit kaya ganun. She’s seen me at my worst and at my best kumbaga,” he said.

The talented heartthrob said that his girlfriend is the one for him. “Depende kung paano mo sasabihin sa kung anong kontexto. Siyempre sa tingin ko naman the fact that were together now for so many years eh talagang ikaw na (laughs). Pero depende pa rin sa kontexto but I’m very hopeful naman sa lahat lahat. Ako talagang very hopeful ako sa mga magagandang bagay na ganun, very positive naman ako,” he added.

When it comes to marriage plans, Dingdong said it is not their priority at the moment. “Very hopeful ako sa magagandang bagay na ganyan. Siyempre hindi mo naman masasabi na hindi dumadampi sa isip mo, siyempre there are more things that I have to deal with first. May mga bagay na kailangan ko muna tapusin. Siyempre imposible namang hindi naming napag-uusapan, imposible naman na hindi ko isipin. We talk about it on a very general point of view first but really nothing about detail. Siguro I just want to leave it at that first siyempre para magandang kahit papano may excitement pa rin,” he said.

When asked what his dream wedding would look like, Dingdong says he does not want to think about it yet. “Wala pa talaga para sa akin. So far wala, hindi ko pa talaga iniisip that far,” he admitted.
