Kapamilya stars unleash athletic side through All-Star Basketball Game

Kapamilya stars unleash athletic side through All-Star Basketball Game

100613-Kapamilya_Main.jpgProving that there's more to them than meets the eye, the biggest and brightest male Kapamilya stars have gathered at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday, October 5, and unveiled once again their sporty side through the friendly Kapamilya All-Star Basketball Game. 

While the two-day celebration of the 60 years of Philippine television aptly dubbed as The Grand Kapamilya Weekend was at the Quezon Memorial Circle, thousands upon thousands of Kapamilya network supporters still filled the seats of the Big Dome to cheer for their favorite stars.

Hosted by Gretchen Fullido and Andrei Felix, two teams vied to be the champions at the Kapamilya All-Star Basketball Game. 

There's the Red team, led by "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin" star Gerald Anderson, with members from the ABS-CBN's very own talent management arm Star Magic namely: Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, Zanjoe Marudo, Joseph Marco, Fred Payawal, Arjo Atayde, JC De Vera, Diego Loyzaga, Jason Abalos, Rayver Cruz, James Blanco, Miko Raval, and Gerard Acao.

Then there's the Green team, led by "It's Showtime" host Jhong Hilario with other Kapamilya stars as members namely:Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, and Eric Tai, Paul Salas, Marco Gumabao, Aaron Villaflor, Julian Estrada, Khalil Ramos, Xian Lim, Ejay Falcon, and Franco Daza.

With every point made by the two teams, the Big Dome rocked to the booming cheers of the fans rooting for their favorite stars . But among the easy crowd favorites were Teen King Daniel, "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" star Enrique, primetime princess Kim Chiu's onscreen love team, Xian and the newest Kapamilya, JC.

Adding glitter to the event was Jessy Mendiola, who teased the players as well as the audience, with her seductive halftime performance of the theme song of her upcoming soap "Maria Mercedes" which was immediately followed by a showstopping number by the UAAP Season 76 Cheerdance Competition champion, NU Pep Squad.

After their one-hour game, it was the the Red team who won the tilt with a final score of 58-34. While Zanjoe, who garnered the most number of points during the entire game, was awarded the Most Valuable Player trophy.

Apart from the players, Kapamilya boss Cory Vidanes also graced the event along with other Kapamilya stars who trooped to the venue to show support to their friends and colleagues. 

Among them were Zanjoe's girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, Xian's apple of the eye, Kim, "It's Showtime" hosts Vice Ganda and Coleen Garcia, "Mira Bella" star Julia Barretto, Dominic Roque, Empress, Liza Soberano and some of the cast of "Goin' Bulilits." While seasoned professional cager now "Got To Believe" actor Benjie Paras served as the game's commissioner.
