Robi Domingo says he and Gretchen Ho are good influences on each other

From hosting the recently concluded <i>The Voice of the Philippines</i>, the former <i>PBB Teens</i> housemate is now the host of season two of <i>I Dare You</i>. Off-cam, Robi is also very happy with his relationship with girlfriend Gretchen Ho. The 24-year-old host says she has influenced him for the better.</div><div><br/></div><div>“<i>Ang</i> influence<i> niya sa akin</i> is simplicity. <i>Eto walang</i> bola a<i>h, yung kagandahan niya iba eh. Tulad nga ng sinasabi ko sa kanya </i>every single time <i>na magkita kami,</i> she’s my beauty queen who happens to wear <i>kahit ano lang, kahit </i>a shirt and jeans. <i>Kahit yun lang suot niya, magiging</i> beauty queen <i>pa rin siya sa akin kasi ang</i> simple <i>ng ganda niya, ang ganda rin ng </i>attitude <i>niya</i> about things, <i>sobrang</i> okay. <i>Yun lang masasabi ko,”</i> he explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>Robi said he has been able to influence Gretchen to be more free-spirited. “I think I inspired her to be optimistic all the time. She’s the serious type <i>eh na</i> always with her game face on all the time, even with the boys. <i>Talagang may</i> great wall <i>siya, </i>great wall <i>na nga siya, may</i> Great Wall of China <i>pa siya sa sarili niya.</i> With this show’s help, it helped me to become more optimistic about life, to be more happy about it and <i>habang ginagawa ko ito, yun yung na</i>-impart <i>ko sa kanya na</i> life is not just about winning and losing, it’s just there and you just have to experience it. It’s there to be experienced, waiting to be experienced and at the end of the day it all boils down to happiness,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>In one episode of <i>I Dare You</i>, Robi admitted his immersion in one community in Zambales was an unforgettable experience and it was also the first time for him to wear a <i>“bahag”</i> on-cam. His challenge was to teach literacy to the community and ultimately to join a storytelling contest. <i>“Nagulat ako, kaso ang hirap naman humindi kasi</i> they might get insulted if you turn down their request to wear it. <i>Matagal din kami dun mga</i> two weeks <i>yung</i> stay<i> namin tapos </i>a week and a half <i>yung mga</i> preparation <i>sa mga</i> contests. <i>Yung</i> story <i>nung sa amin, umikot kami sa iba’t ibang mga isla</i> to teach kids <i>tapos nag-</i>recruit <i>kami ng mga</i> Aetas, <i>sumali kami sa mga</i> storytelling competition, <i>yung Alitaptap,</i>” he recalled.</div><div><br/></div><div>When asked to comment about his co-host Melai Cantiveros’s recent pregnancy news, Robi said he is happy for Melai and her partner Jason Francisco, who was also a guest in one of the episodes of this season’s<i> I Dare You</i>. “All I can say is we miss you, I’m really, really happy for you <i>kasi alam ko yung</i> love story<i> nilang dalawa ni </i>Jason is really something <i>mula dati,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Robi said Melai was not yet pregnant when they were taping episodes of the show earlier this year and she was even surprised to discover she would be doing a ballroom dancing challenge with Jason. “<i>Si</i> Jason <i>sinabihan namin pero si </i>Melai hindi <i>niya alam. Wala siyang alam at</i> all. Surprised<i> siya agad kasi ang</i> technique <i>ng I Dare You</i> is <i>kunyari ikaw ang </i>gusto <i>nilang gawing</i> celebrity <i>kakampi. Pero sa</i> show, <i>si</i> Melai<i> at </i>Deniesse (Aguilar) <i>yung magkakasama, sila yung nag-a-</i>annotate<i> sa buhay ko dun sa</i> episode<i> ko pero umikot rin sila.
